You sound just like what the armed forces are looking for.

not gonna happen. at 17, you must have parental consent and be a HS graduate.

at 18, you have a few more options, but not many. you would need a waiver for felony, and about the only Branch entertaining waiving felonies is the Army. the GED is also going to hinder your options. You need at least 15 college credits(100 level or higher) to elevate the GED to a HS diploma, which opens up a lot of doors for you.

Enlist in the military? Way easy, man, if that's what you want to do. Just contact an Army recruiter - they're usually the most lenient because they're the biggest branch and need the most recruits. They're in the phone book and probably have a kiosk at your local mall.

If you're 17.5 years old you'll need parental consent.

You will need parental (or legal guardian) consent until you are 18. I'd try the Army or Navy. The Air Force, Coast Guard and Marines will probably not take you...
Good Luck

As long as he is shy of his eighteenth birthday, he will need parental consent no matter what. The crime is resolved, without any parole or anything like that, so there shouldn't be a great deal of problems.

But the Army or Navy would be the best bets. There is a chance the Air Force wouldn't take him. Thanks for his desire to serve our country, and good luck!!!!! :)

At 17 you must have parental consent

GED is not good for the Air Force...but good for Army, Navy Marines

Since your felony was as a juvenile, it is sealed...should not be an issue.

I'd recommend the Navy as your best option.

If you are a non violent felon why do you want to join the military? It's not much good having respect when you're dead. In fact it's better to stay alive than have the mealy mouthed respect of the rich. That's who you be fightin' fo' boy!! I assume you are a Southerner?
