Although I can't answer your question, as a retired Navy Corpsman I can tell you my observations regarding Filipinos. For some reason or the other the vast majority of Filipinos serve as stewards which are personal attendants to officers. However, on rare occasions you will see a pinoy as an enlisted hospital corpsman. Every one of those that I have seen are smart and have made excellent corpsmen. Philippine nurses are in great demand in the US and it is not difficult for them to get a visa. My advice to you is to make your major nursing and not chemistry. Chemistry grads have much greater difficulty in obtaining an American visa. Mabuhay!

As a legel US resident you can enlist in the US military. In the navy you can choose to become a corpman, which is similar to a nurse, but it depends what you score on the ASVAB test and you would have to pass a course which last about 9 months after you complete basic training (bootcamp). Now to become an actual nurse you would need be a US citizens since nurses in the military are commision officers. There are different ways to becoming a officer but in most cases you will need a college degree. If you qualify, SAT scores, grades..etc. the military will pay for your college education through a military academy or rotc. You can find more information on the web. I hope this helped asnwered your question.

You must be a US citizen and your Nursing credentials must be recongized by the US. Most overseas Schools are not recognized, so you would have to complete additional training in the States as well as pass their tests.

This is true for Civilians as well.
