I wonder if Lennon would have defended himself or simply tried to talk with Chapman.
Lennon was an Idealist fool his death proves pacifism's flaws. You can't make everyone happy, and not everyone will play fair.

Obviously, you are another blind liberal dem, or you never studied your history! Nixon was the one who got the troops out of Vietnam. Yes it took him a term and a half to complete it, bot nonetheless, he accomplished it. Before he stepped down. It was actually the dems before him who were sending all of the troops over to Vietnam. Learn history or shut the frig up! He would have also won the presidency when he first ran, against JFK, but that was another case of the swinging, and hanging, and partially poked chads. Only this time it was in the Upper mid-west, I believe. But, Nixon wanted to do the honorable thing and not put the country through a whole bunch of stuff, so he succeeded the presidency to JFK. Unlike that other liberal idiot, Dole. What shape would this country be in now, if he was to have won that battle? Good day to you.

Well, let's see just how many inaccuracies and lies I can point out in your "question."
John Lennon did not "wage peace." Lennon wasn't even an American citizen when he staged his infamous "bed-in for peace;" he was nothing more than just another loud-mouthed celebrity with an opinion, and used his celebrity status to stage one of the most ridiculous exhibits in media history. He did NOTHING to affect the outcome of the war.
Nixon is the one who got us OUT of Viet Nam, or did you conveniently "forget" this? He inherited the war from LBJ, who inherited it from JFK. Kennedy first sent troops to Viet Nam, but it was LBJ who really started waging warfare by the wholesale deployment of troops to SE Asia...this after he made the statement that he "will not send our boys to die in a foreign land." Nixon is the one who put an end to all of it.
And I fail to see how any political party affiliation of anyone has anything at all to do with this.
