Well think about your question.

What COMBAT MOS has a civlian related job?

Not many CIVILIAN jobs call for COMBAT skills. Pretty much none in my experience. Killing people is generally seen as poor customer service in the civilian sector. . Somebody said "Combat Engineer", that is probably your best shot, but there aren't a lot of crossover skills between combat skills and civilian skills.

You want to be a combat Marine, more power to you. You will get respect, both self respect and the respect of others (except perhaps for a very few of the terminally clueless fools out there). You will have earned that respect a thousand times over. You will leadership skills and self discipline and endurance the ability to handle LOTS of responsibility and the knowledge that you can do things you NEVER thought you could. Most of these are things most employers will value.

What you won't get are any skills that will easily transfer over to the civilian job market. There isn't a lot of call for knowing how to blow things up or shoot down airplanes in the civilian sector.

Combat engineer is probably your best shot.

I have been in the Army 11 years and just reenlisted yesterday for ten more. I am married with three kids. It is an awesome career with good pay and benefits. I started as a Military Policeman and then went on to explosives. It has been an awesome ride so far.

I will be retired at age 40! With a pension for the rest of my life. I am about ready to finish my degree and the Army paid 100% of it. It has taught me a lot about life, allowed me to see the world, and enhanced my resume making me way more marketable.

I have met some of the best and most patriotic Americans in the Army. Over half of the Army is married and the support you recieve with base facilities is awesome. I think every young person should try the Army. They have a two year enlistment option to try it out. The Army is the only service that allows YOU to pick YOUR job 100% of the time or you do not enlist. The Army has more than 150 jobs to choose from. They also have the fastest promotions of all the services.

Army Strong!

SNIPER? There are MANY MOS' in the U.S. Marines (as well as other branches) that CAN cross to a civilian job. I always council young men and women considering joining the military to take a close look at those that they can use profitably in the CIVILIAN WORLD. Rifleman is not one of them.
