I'd really love to know where the misconception came from that military spouses are uneducated, lazy, stay-at-home moms? It really drives me mad. As a highly educated (master's degree) military spouse, it pains me to think that we(spouses) are looked at as ignorant. I may be a stay-at-home mom right now (my son is 3) but that certainly doesn't make me lazy. Any thoughts from other military spouses out there?

Israel ADMITS USING PHOSPHORUS BOMBS DURING WAR IN LEBANON
Haarettz (Isreali newspaper)
By Meron Rappaport, Haaretz Correspondent .
Israel has acknowledged for the first time that it attacked Hezbollah targets during the second Lebanon war with phosphorus shells. White phosphorus causes very painful and often lethal chemical burns to those hit by it, and until recently Israel maintained that it only uses such bombs to mark targets or territory.

The announcement that the Israel Defense Forces had used phosphorus bombs in the war in Lebanon was made by Minister Jacob Edery, in charge of government-Knesset relations. He had been queried on the matter by MK Zahava Gal-On (Meretz-Yahad).
During the war several foreign media outlets reported that Lebanese civilians carried injuries characteristic of attacks with phosphorus, a substance that burns when it comes to contact with air.

My friend just deployed last week. I was wondering how long I should wait before sending mail to the address he gave me for over there? I was kind of wanting something to be there before he got there, so that when he arrives he will have something waiting on him. Would it be a good idea to go ahead and send it, or would it be better to wait?

We need to remember there were only 11 states fighting for the south. Also there was slavery in the North Too.The devastation was terrible! There are still bones buried in some places, it was a sad warb , an unfair war , Lincoln I think was a bit paranoid. Iam only voicing my thoughts.Tell me yours.

It worked against Japan. Do you think we could stop a long term war and make the insurgents surrender if we used a tactical nuke on them? I wouldnt ever want to see nukes used again ever but I am asking a hypothetical question.

Is the movie Top Gun? It's one of my favorite movies; however, I was just wondering how much of the things that happen in the movie, actually happen in the real Air Force. Is there really a school for the top pilots?

I read an article about people getting out of the military because they are against the war. Our government spends hundreds of thousands on training them, and not to mention all the tax dollars they spend if they claim disability compensation. How could someone join the military and claim they can not goto war under the consientious objector clause? Why join the military? I just want opinions.

Am I the only one bothered by this title placed apon me? The very second my husband became a soldier, I ceased to become a person with a name. I'm no longer Mrs. or any spin off of the sort. When I recieve letters from the military it is ALWAYS *Dear Military Spouse*. Now, I realize they must send thousands apon thousands of these very same letters to other wife's, and husband's but so does, let's say, the phone company, and they seem to place a name on the top of that sheet, without a problem.Let me give a few more examples as to why this grates on my nerves, like nails to a chalkboard. While my husband was in basic training, and during his graduation ceremony, I flew to visit, and such as we all do. I, being the lucky person that I am, happen to be there for *Military Spouse Appreciation Day!* I was totally taken aback by this special holiday. And what did I recieve from the military as a gift? Surprise! A free copy of military spouse magazine. I was ....
