My situation is that my wife purchased 2 plane tickets for a leave that is coming up. I am currently in Iraq, and a direct order from the battalion commander was that no one was to purchase plane tickets for leave yet. I did not tell my wife about not buying tickets because I did not anticipate my wife buying them so early and without telling me because you must know that things in military life change everyday. My wife called the FRG one day and they told her that the dates were set in stone and that she could buy the tickets, so she did. I told my platoon sgt that the FRG had given my wife the go ahead to buy tickets and now hes out to get me with an article 15, which makes no sense to me whatsoever. Do you have any references for what authority a commander has to tell soldiers what they can buy and not buy, and what authority they have over wives?

I know that there are instances where commanders have power over civilian spouses, such as while on an installation, or if they are causing trouble in some way that affects the army and what not, but how much authority do they have and where can that specific information be found?

If a commander gives an order to a subordinate not to buy a Chrysler 300 for example, does that order apply also to their spouse even if they are not on post?

And while we're on the subject, do commanders have the authority to say what subordinates can and cannot purchase with their own pay? (And I'm taliking about legal everyday items, like say a TV or a Microwave) I need referenes if you have them, thank you.

Hey..Im a Freshman, I have a 3.42 GPA and are in advanced classes (Sophmore and Junior classes). I want to go Rotary Winged Pilot (Warrant Officer) but Iv heard its pretty competitive. What can I do to help my chances into getting in out of High School. I would go to a 2 year school after High School if it would really help THAT MUCH, but I really dont want to. So besides getting a full blown Private Pilots Certificate, what can I do to help my chances of getting in?

So...

-How hard/competitive is it to get in?
-Is the 52 Weeks training like AIT where you wont be able to see your family at all?(even if married)
-Would a 2 year Degree really help that much?
-And would getting Flight Ground Schooling or 15-20 hours on a Student Flight Liscense help any/alot too?

--Thanks alot

It was given as a gift by the russians in the form of a flag or painting or something and inside was a radio transmitter so they were listening to the president talk for months or years before they discovered it. I might be slightly off on the facts.

Any info would be great thx.

I work with a young man who has recently returned from military duty and has been given a medical discharge. He was ambushed in Iraq while his group was patroling an Iraqi neighborhood and received severe facial injuries. He was on the receiving end of a gun butt by an Iraqi and received a broken jaw, nose and cheekbone and lost several teeth. He is back here now and trying to start life over after serving 8 years in the army. I was asking him what his plan was and he said that when a soldier is medically discharged he loses his college money fund that he has paid into and even though they fixed his face the goverment will not pay to fix his teeth. Hence, he is working a full time job at my company to get insurance and tuition reimbursement so he can afford college. I told him that it would seem that if a soldier was wounded in combat they should not be punished by losing benefits. He said these changes have happened since Bush has been in office.

Now that is a real war crime!

...and only had $5 Billion to work with, what equipment and weaponry would you purchase. This is assuming you had a well trained military of around 20k people and about 2k square acres of unobstructed, flat grassy land.

USA invaded Iraq for 2 reasons.
1) Saddam was a dictator and people sufferred.
2) To find and destroy any kind of illegal weapons.
Up to here it is ok. You agree or not.
US ally in the area is Pakistan:
There is the same kind of dictatorship (or worse!) as there was
in Iraq with Saddam. Also Pakistan is known to be a country
with nuclear & chemical weapons.
So where is the diference of US enemies and US allies ?

The same question about Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia.
No illegal weapons there but crude dictatorships.
Those two countries are a possible hide for OssamaBinLaden.
Places where live radical islamists (possible terrorists)
Once again where is the deference.

Attention : I am interested only in aswers from people that say
Yes to the war, not from those who say "WAR IS FOR OIL".

I was just wondering if all those veterans records and files that were lost, were ever recoved? If not, then what is going to happen to those whose information was lost? It was all over the news at one point, but then, I never heard much about it...so I have no idea if they found them or not. They would still have proof that the people actually served in the military though, right?
