I can't imagine anyone thinking this war should still be going on, but it is.
We need to support our men and women and behave in such a manner that our support for what they are trying to accomplish is not at all questionable.

I, for one, think it should never have been started, Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, had no WMDs, posed no significant threat to the U.S., and we had intelligence to that effect at the time. Was Saddam a good person, manifestly not, is Iraq better off without him, a harder call. The problem is that we did start it and we are now stuck with it, Bush had no plan of any kind for getting us back out after we went in, nor did he have any clear concept of into what he was getting us. The purpose of the military is destroy the enemies capacity to wage war, and he didn't let them do that. Now he is trying to nation build in the middle of a civil war, and getting our best and bravest killed in the process. As tempting as it is to just say kh'est it and leave we owe it to the dead, both our own and Iraq's, to clean up the mess we've made. That's one of the saddest things about War, they are so much easier to start than to stop.

This war was immoral, illegal, unconstitutional and unnecessary from the beginning. The Bush family had a personal vendetta against Saddam Hussein, ever since Desert Storm, and they were determined to 'settle the score'. The ONLY other reason we invaded another sovereign nation - that in NO way threatened, provoked, or attacked the U.S.A. - is because Dick Cheney wants all that OIL swimming underneath Iraq's sand so he and his Exxon-Mobil buddies can get richer and richer and richer.
The war has cost the United States it reputation as a global peacekeeper and world leader (not to mention 655,000 Iraqi lives, almost 3,000 U.S. soldiers' lives, and thousands more either injured or disabled). This war is a travesty. -RKO-

No, the insurgents should lay down their weapons and let the peaceful Iraqis elect the government they want and organize the nation how they want. The war would be over if it weren't for the crazy Muslims who want a caliphate.

The war on terrorism, yes. But right now the U.S. is fighting all by itself. The only way we can win this war is for all of the countries against this threat to the entire western civilization, of freedom, is to be united and right now the US is not even doing that. Right now if the U.S. leaves Iraq and Afghanistan, it loses. If the U.S. decides to stay and no other countries help it reform Iraq, it loses. Europe needs to help because if they don't, they will eventually fall to this threat to the western way of life which is worth fighting for.

NO, we should surrender, convert to Islam and then force women to wear the veil or get stoned. I actually look forward to 3 more wives I can abuse with impunity. Heck, if they backtalk me I will just claim adultry and being the man, everyone will believe me and we can stone her. The fun will never end. I can even grow the big dirty beard I always wanted and my boss will have to change the dress codes.

Of course. It will continue to go on until need be. If we left right now, it'd make us look weak, and Iraq would turn into a huge terrorist Country.
