If so, would it eliminate the problem of all these illegal aliens coming from across the Mexican border?

Also, if it were reinstated, do you think the military would also get rid of the don't ask don't tell policy? That way gays can enlist and serve our country?

How the hell do you draft them, you don't have addresses etc to send the draft papers to.

And you can't draft someone who is not a citizen of your country.

Perhaps if we did as the French Foreign Legion did:
After serving in the Legion for three years (out of a five-year initial enlistment), the legionnaire is allowed to apply for French citizenship.
Do you think any illegal immigrants would still be interested..
Notice, it said they were then invited to apply for citizenship.. it never stated that they were accepted.

I am only referring to ILLEGAL immigrants here..

NO, BUT that is a very good idea, there have been foreigners
sign up for the US Military during war time and sometimes during peace-time!!!!!!!!On the illegals coming across the border, it might slow it down considerably.

In WWII there were many foreigners fighting for the Americans, they were promised citizenship. for their service.I don't believe illegal aliens could be drafted, since no one knows exactly who and where they are.It could be a solution offering them citizenship, if they volunteer for military service.

unfortunatly no. But since they are good enough to recieve food stamps, medicaid, housing to name a few welfare benifits, I think they should be sent to war as well. They can help defend the country that has offered them such a better life.

no because they are not legal ,
,, i think if the draft is reinstated,, i think that they should empty are jails and send them over there to fight,, if they don;t get killed after 18 months than theres their freedom..
we could save lots of $$$ that way,,, lol

No, because they are illegal they are non-documented, therefor they could not be found for induction. They are criminals, here to take the gifts of our society and contribute nothing.

No, they would not be eligible. They are here illegally and are criminals. The military does not accept criminals.

What I imagine they'd do it was they're doing already--offer citizenship in exchange for military service.

ONLY AMERICAN CITIZENS CAN BE DRAFTED...AT LEAST, THAT'S THE WAY IT USED TO BE.............HOWEVER, NON-CITIZENS COULD VOLUNTEER.
