(1) This is not a military question.

(2) Developed nations that demonstrate that they are able to handle themselves amongst the community of nations do not get military action thrown on them in the 21st century. Nations that have immature sociopolitical systems and dysfunctional economies are the ones that become warzones.

(3) As stated in (2), if a nation demonstrates that it meets those criteria, it will never see an invasion of its soil. Nations like Finland and Canada hardly merit treatment along the lines of Syria or North Korea.

If you weren't such an idiot, maybe you would have performed the reality check on yourself before you asked such an asinine question solely for the purposes of riling up people and cheering on the imbeciles who adopt your kind of oversimplified worldview.

Try again after you've actually experienced reality. You haven't yet.

Because the poor countries are the only ones threatening America's, and the world's for that matter, security. They are undereducated and underpriveledged. Desperate or ignorant.
Why doesn't Britain want there colonies back? Because they are a mature country with new, peace focused values.
Countries that truley want to challenge the United States do not do so by threatening the security of anyone. China is a prime example, they have challenged the US economically, and they are winning by a landslide.
The answer to your question: The poor countries are the only ones that are immediately threatining to world security, and they make themselves out to be such because they haven't the governmental maturity nor the patience to use alternative methods of challenging.

I have been to Iraq and I don't know what you are talking about that it is not poor. Sure it may have oil but that don't help the guy selling Zam Zam on the side of the road.

Natural Resources do not equal Wealth.

After being in Iraq I have no pity for those who live in America and consider themselves "poor"

We've invaded TWO countries during the Bush Administration. I don't quiet see the point of your question...

I WILL cede that Afghanistan is a "poor" country. WHY did we invade them ? Simple: they were harboring Osama bin Laden and his group Al Queda. We asked the Taliban government of Afghanistan to surrender Osama in 1998, and kept asking...When the Taliban refused to surrender Osama after 9/11, the US warned them to give him up, or face invasion.

Iraq was NOT a poor country It's GDP was ranked 59 of 231 countries in 2002. It's citizens WERE suffering because their dictator was in violation of UN Sanctions because HE had not complied with the Cease-Fire of 1991.

Saadam Hussien was warned in period from 1991-2003 to comply... instead he shot at our aircraft (an act of war) and refused to comply with UN Resolutions.

The United States had faulty intelligence, and we have yet to find any sizable stocks of WMD... and we've muffed the post-war situation...

But stop YOUR silly rhetorical questions.

Iraq is far from poor, the oil you are constantly harping about gives them great wealth & always has.

Afghanistan had nothing worth selling so they sold hiding places for the Taliban. Increased terrorism until something had to be done.

Money had nothing to do with it & a little research would have told you that but naming calling is quicker.

1. Afghanistan's Taliban allowed the terrorists to train there.

2. Iraq refused to cooperate with the cease fire they signed.

BTW, these countries were poor because they had oppressive dictators. They are gone and there is a chance at freedom.

I do not completely agree with Bush's policies, but if you thin Iraq is poor, you need to do some more research.
