Probably not...Unfortunately(or fortunately) this country isn't ready to see women killed in battle. People still believe that women have no place in war. And equally incorrect, they subconsiously think a womans life to be more important than a mans.

I'm in the Army, I've been to Iraq, and I can tell you right now that I wouldn't trade any of the chicks in my unit for another male soldier. Do I think women have a place in the military? Hell yeah! But do I think they will be drafted? Nope! And I'll tell you why; I don't want anyone who "has to be" drafted (male or female) fighting beside me. I would rather they voluteered because at least that way I know their heart is in it. And I would know that they take it just as seriously as I do.

Now...as to all of this crap about woman being physically, emotionally and mentally unfit for war? That's the biggest crock of **** I have ever heard. There are some hardcore B!!ches in my unit. And those that can't handle themselves? They stay inside the wire.
I've seen a guy drop down from the turret and curl up in the fetal possition the moment he started taking fire. And I've seen a girl rock a 50 cal in retaliation, when her truck was taking small arms fire. So don't tell me us girls can't handle it.
You wanna see a Barbie in Uniform? Look at the Air Force. You wanna see some hardcore chicks? Take a peek at the Army and Marine females I hung out with in country. Bets are you'll think twice about telling one of us to our face that we can't hack it.

Any attempt at conscription would by necessity use the database already defined by the Selective Service System. That excludes all women. I've answered this already at length before, so in a nutshell, let's just say that the mechanisms the government has for bringing back a draft do not account for women at all. This is because the current system was put up during the Second World War, and women were not allowed to join the military proper during that time (they went to "auxillary" duties). The system was never changed; hence in Vietnam, women still weren't drafted.

Women are also excluded by Congress from any and all combat arms positions (infantry, armor, artillery et al). For this to change, the United States would have to take such tremendous battlefield losses (in the manner of the Soviet Union during the Second World War) that it has no choice but to bring in large numbers of women to replenish the ranks.

Until then, for political reasons and reasons of bureaucracy, women will not be drafted.

I don't think so. There are plenty of males to do the job if we have to resort to a draft.

The thing is, if you're drafted, it's most likely for ground combat because it takes the least amount of time to train. The U.S. does not want women in ground combat. I assume it's because sexual emotions can get in the way while in combat, and most likely the female will end up feeling insulted or uncomfortable, resulting in a less effective soldier. They also believe that women are more empathetic towards the enemy, that one has less of a desire to kill an enemy even while being shot at. I would assume that it's a lot harder for a person to kill when you can see the enemy's body.

Males also have less trust of female strength. I know if I were to get injured as a soldier, I would want the closest available person to be strong enough to pull my body away. The chance that the closest person is a female would make many male soldiers uneasy.

They do let females in aerial combat vehicles mainly because men and women are pretty much alone or in pairs in those vehicles and out of view of each other. They also only see the vehicles of the people they are killing or see them from very far away.

I honestly don't think that women are any less capable as soldiers (with the exception of strength). Israel allows females in combat and is known for having female snipers. But the mindset of the government here in the U.S. will prevent that from happening. And there would also be outrage among everybody else for the "cruel government forcing women to fight."

That's one reason why most likely there won't be a draft. If the government ever re-started a draft, it would be challenged as unconstitutional because women so far are excluded from the draft. The case would end up in the U.S. Supreme Court to be decided on whether women should be drafted or not.

there is not any draft and there will be no draft. To subject women folk to the draft could require substitute of the universal provider and practise Act of 1947. considering there is not any abdomen interior the Congress to do away with the prohibition on women folk being assigned to wrestle hands positions, there is likewise no abdomen for amending that 1947 regulation. the reason being easy. The preferable rigidity on the wrestle hands prohibition grew to become into the protection Advisory Committee on women folk interior the provider (DACOWITS) which is composed of ladies interior the militia and girls in civilian life. it is your own gender that's against it!

Probably not, but I think every citizen should be prepared to serve their country. Not everybody will be in the front lines. There are other ways to serve.

I hope not. Women have no place in wars, sorry ladies. I certainly would not want to go to war with a woman by my side and wait while she checks her makeup.....
