Bush has already said that we would not be going into North Korea or Iran. We shall not for good reasons number one is if we go into Iran or make any moves in that direction as we did in Iraq and the Bush administration has tried to open it up in the same fashion, the Chinese would not stand by nor would Russia and allow us to do it, we also do not have the manpower to fight a three front war, the one we are in now being a two front war is bad enough the three front war would be a disaster for the USA.

To do that, this country will need a military of at least 2 million soldiers. By preemptive, I'm sure you don't mean nuclear strike, just an invasion. If we invade,N. Korea we are also going to have to deal with Iran. Let's make that 4 million soldiers to fight three countries. The situation most likely will not blow over because nuclear bombs are world threatening. Let's hope rational minds prevail.

It's doubtful that anything will blow over. Iran will get it's comeuppance if it keeps on it's current path, but it will more than likely be Israel who does it.
N.Korea blinked, in the Asian community that's the worst thing one can do. If the 'Dear leader' was smart, he'd stay in China, because there's probably a whole bunch of N.Korean that want a hunk of his butt, about now. Hopefully, for now the N.Korean problem is on the back burner.

not likely. As the first answer suggests we do not have the power to do so. Our military is so weakened at present. We do not have enough men in uniform period and are cutting it as I type this. The general population has to realize that we are not all powerful and cannot just force out will on the world. We must pursue diplomacy! It is something that has not been pursued with much vigor since Bush senior was presidentby either Clinton or Junior.

Unlikely. There will have to be concrete evidence, preferably televised by CNN, of hostile movement, before we'll be able to justify a defensive strike.
