I don't expect to start immediately as a detective but what would help to study or courses to take now before i get out of the military?

Do you get to apply for detective or do you have to go to police academy and then work your way up from the bottom?

Are they torturing him for information and trying to giv ehim pay back on making the Fed's look bad the last few months?

If he was charged on Federal charges shouldn't he show up on BOP custody?

His wife Elain Brown is shown on the Federal Site and in BOP custody as inmate # 03924-049

Ed Brown was arrested at the same time and is shown on the Federal site as inmate #03923-049 but it says not in BOP custody.

What are they doing - flying him around in shackles and putting him on busses as a form of torture like they did that Congressman a while back?

These people are still American's and they have rights and the people who care about them have a right to know if they are alive or hurt in some way

Is that only until your probation is over, or for the rest of your life? I mean, there's no way the courts/police would keep tabs on you after your case is over, right?

if you were sentenced to jail at you're hearing do you go in right away or do you have some time before you go in, especially if you were out on bail prior to your court date?

I recently got assaulted and found out that one of the guys that assaulted me had a knife with him. Thank God i didnt get stabbed. While this happened my friend ran off and left me by myself. knowing that i cant even trust my friends in this kind of situation, i recently bought a pocket knife. Does anyone know the law in regards to pocket knives? If i have it clipped to my belt, clipped with the knife facing in or tucked out (closed of course)? i know that there laws regarding the length. is this for the whole knife or just the blade? the blade of my knife is about 3 inches or so. now, lets say i have the knife on me and i use it as self defense while being assaulted, will i be prosecuted? what will happen? please help me out. Thanks!

My partner is being charged with assault or battery (cant remember which) against myself and criminal damage, what sort of sentence/punishment will he get if found guilty, has a caution previously but thats it (not for the same thing though)

I believe this company is cheating people. The small cup and the medium cup that they have is I believe holds the same volume. The small cup is wide and the medium cup is tall. Howver I tested them and they hold the same volume. They are charging more for the medium even though it holds the same volume as the small. What can be done about this so they will stop cheating people?

I have 2 bench warrants that I have just found out about. They are both from skipping a payment on my payment arrangement. Both the tickets are traffic violations. I belive one warrant is actually a 2nd for that ticket, due to an error with the court months ago. I live in the state of Nevada and will be flying to Hawaii for business. Will I be arrested at the airport for a bench warrant?

Many biker gangs have bad reps with the law enforcement and the police. The Hell's Angels have been known to go into charity events and fundraisers but have occasionaly been involved with drug trades and many public displays of violence.

Do people blame the whole gang for actions of its few members? I mean if 40 people are part of illegal activity in the gang the group as a whole should not be held accountable. Are these biker gangs really a front for illegal activity or do the media just label them as being "bad"?

The Hell's Angels were hired as security for this event and a few deaths had occured. A young black teen was stabbed in supposed self-defense and the Hell's Angel member was acquited from the murder. A short while later his body was found in a resevoir. Who do you think was responsible for that?

I want my protagonist to have a gun that is stronger than the standard issue pieces given out to cops (9mm glocks?). I first wrote that he had a .45 Desert Eagle(cuz it's f*ckin' sweet), but then that he had a S&W Model 29 double action .44 Magnum Revolver with an 8 and two thirds inch barrel. This novel takes place in the late 70's early eighties. So could you tell me what kind of gun, model, would be appropiate and what were the standard issue guns back then. Thank you very much.

I feel really bad for the familys, my deepest sympathy goes out them.

But back to the question,
How is it that this guys was a deputy sherriff at the age of 20? Don't they have to go to training and or school for years? and do psychological analysis?
I mean this guy only had his drivers license for a few years? Just started dating? Isn't even old enough to drink?

I think that type of JOB and responsibility should only be given to people that are a little more mature and trained, this is a perfect example..

Does anyone else know how this individual slipped through the cracks?.. Is this normal to promote law enforcement people into this massive responsibility at such a young age??

To me it seems like a horrible idea.

If I have a boat registered in Florida, can I still put it in the water in Alabama and still be completely legal with just the Florida tags? Or will I have to register in Alabama also?

i got accused by a girl who accused me of raping her even low i was never there and had a solid alabi i got put in a childrens home for punishment for 3 weeks then let out becuase there was no evidence only her word she has gone round my area and told everyone i raped her to this day and i got badly beaten for what they belived was true even low a doctor examined her and said she had never had sex she was still a virgin the hymen was intact still it normally breaks when a women is penertrated this has wreaked my life and im asking people should i consider taking her to cort for slander?

I have noticed in the minutes of my friends case, that they put the preliminary hearing tenative to 10/10/07, and then a comment made by counsel states last day for preliminary hearing is 10/16/07.
His next court appearance for the felony conference is set for 10/29/07

If no preliminary hearing is set and continued with, is then the legal rights of my friend due to his right to due process therefore violated and charges dropped?

The department of natural resources shows up but does nothing as apparently the hunter is following all of their regulations. Is there anything else we can do to stop the gentleman from disturbing our sleep every morning??? It has been a lifelong dream of mine to become a police officer. Some kids never grow out of it i guess. I was in the air force, kicked out because of "misconduct." This was 8 years ago, I am sure I have grown up since then. At this point, I drive a semi truck. I have kept myself out of trouble, with 2 whole traffic tickets over the pst decade. No I do not have a degree. Does anyone know of any PD's with somewhat not-so-stringent hiring requirements? I am sure I can pass the basics, written test, physical abilities, psychological with little problems, if any. But, its the background and my credit history to which is killing me im sure. Any ideas, someone please answer!! thanks in advance!

If you are a cop, I would like you to answer this. You might not think you guys do, but I have witnessed cops putting on their lights to run redlights and then turning them off so they can get acrossed the street faster. I have seen them SPEED without going to a call. We as citizens who do not work the police force, would sometimes like to bust police with tickets for not obeying the law as well. Yeh, congress enforces laws, but the cops don't necessarily obey them either. The people who get caught are the ones that don't work that type of field and are generally the innocent as well. I'm not saying that the citizens are all perfect and don't need fines. I believe that we ALL should obey the laws even if we are cops, firemen, etc.

near a location where a friend of mine lives, there was a domestic disturbance that required the cops to be at this location. However, when they told the people(they were mostly african americans) to step back, they started to pepperspray these people without giving them a chance to step back. I feel that the city should do an investigation, however the city told our local news who covered the story that they did what was right and there is no pending investigation. I think the cops should have lost their jobs. One of the children who got peppersprayed was 2 and some were other adults and children.
