near a location where a friend of mine lives, there was a domestic disturbance that required the cops to be at this location. However, when they told the people(they were mostly african americans) to step back, they started to pepperspray these people without giving them a chance to step back. I feel that the city should do an investigation, however the city told our local news who covered the story that they did what was right and there is no pending investigation. I think the cops should have lost their jobs. One of the children who got peppersprayed was 2 and some were other adults and children.

The news cameras were rolling and showed some footage. Also their was a mother wiping the childs eyes. Give me a break to the cop of 7+ years, because this is a child(2years old) that upsets me the most of pepperspraying that child. I think the cops should be jailed. And no investigation! What kind of **** is that?

That's what I would consider a HATE crime from cops. Cops get away with sooooo much.

The first question i have is why would a mother of a 2 year old be at the scene of a domestic violence call with a 2 year old? When an offer asks the crowd to step back, it means now, not when you get around to it. The fact that these people were of african descent has no bearing on how police officers do their jobs. Many would love to turn every issue into a race issue, but the sad fact is, that most police officers could care less what color you are. If the mother was not responsible enough to remove such a young child from a domestic violence scene, and the child was hit with pepper spray, it would seem that the mother is responsible for the child being sprayed. Why is it that crowds like to gather around calls involving the police anyway.....

I would like to believe that the cops would never pepper spray a 2 year old. that said...they are mostly in a constant state of survival. while the child did not choose to be in that area of turmoil, the circumstances of the child's caregiver has put them there. therefore, I blame the caregiver on not caring for the child and keeping them out of harms way. the caregiver knows full where where they live and the challenges they deal with everyday. I'm not blaming them on the particular situation, but on the action they take (or did not take ) to protect the children.

Adults can not hide behind children when they are commiting crimes.

If charges are filed, they should be against the parents of the children for putting them in danger. Take the kids away and investigate the parents.

Next time, they would make sure the kids were safe before messing with the cops.

If you have no police experience or experience in trying to resolve domestic disturbances, then you have no basis on which to form an opinion. We in the law enforcement community appreciate your support, and thank you for not rushing to judgment.

Injust is not a word.

I wasn't there, and neither were you, so neither of us can really judge what happened (unless there is video you forgot to mention).

I doubt the way you HEARD it went down is actually what happened.
