Just wondering how agencies would look at you eventhough it would not be in any background check.

Yes, as long as their records are clean. I think their in good shape.
Thats the only way the agency can check upon someone unless of course, they have a spy over their head watching them!

Would kind of make an interesting police officer, someone who has done major crimes in the past. Hmm raw experience.

If you did not get caught, arrested, convicted, it will not be on your record. If you are feeling bad about something you have done and want to clear your conscience to become a police officer, then may I suggest helping out someone in the same situation? Like if you stole something, know who it was, or where they are, send them compensation of some sort. You dont have to let them know who you are. It feels good to make up for things you did wrong in the past.

If there is no way to find the people, contact support groups and find someone negatively affected by crime and do something wonderful for them. Becoming a police officer is a very brave and nobel act. You are protecting the people from criminals. I wish you the very best.
If you cant find a similar situation, forgive yourself, and just do that much better of a job. You may be a little bit more compassionate to a kid that committed a crime then some and set them on the right path.
Good luck!

If never Caught then technically you are ok. These days Police use psychologists as a part of the recruitment process. You may just bypass them but I think that it woud eventually ruin your consience and end up ruining your job. With all honesty and respect. I dont think it is a very responsible and decent thing as to apply for the police force. Do see a local psychologist and ask weather you would be mentally applicable.

yes , if you were not convicted you would be okay. if you were arrested you might have to answer why . then you could not really lie. i wouldn't tell a lie to get a job , ever. i would highlight anything positive and fail to mention anything negative. but if asked directly, i'd tell the truth , not lie.

i would think that more than a few cops have engaged in major crimes but were not caught. the experience should be valulable in having been on both sides of the fence.

just stay honest when you decide to be a cop. as a citizen we are not willing to tollerate th fence jumpers. i'm honest today / i'm corrupt today.

It may not come up on the background check itself but it will on the polygraph or voice stress analyzer. You don't think we would make it that easy for you did you? We ask about all your history to include any crime that ever went undetected. Keep that in mind when you undergo the application process.

Depending on the force. Such as cincinnati, Ohio, they check everything. And your criminal record is not what you are convicted of it is any charges that have been filed against you. Even if they were dropped or you were found not guilty. The interview process will eliminate you because it is very detailed and explicit.

It won't show on a criminal record, but the background check will reveal it. Being honest MIGHT disqualify you, but lying on your application will disqualify you for sure.

Join up, we need more criminal scumbags in uniform. Just remember, people love tricking on the police to see them in prison, so if you had a partner, watch your ***.

Of course, if you've matured past the point that those things were funny.
If cops were supposed to be saints, we wouldn't have them!
Good luck to you!
