If I have a boat registered in Florida, can I still put it in the water in Alabama and still be completely legal with just the Florida tags? Or will I have to register in Alabama also?

And yes, it is insured, full coverage.

Please cite some sources.

Thanks!

It depends on where you go. Any of the bigger lakes like Lakes martin, Gant, and Eufala will be strict but i never had a problem using the geneva county lake or lake tholocco on Ft. Rucker right outside of Enterprise. We lived in defuniak springs and these were all day trips.

That depends. In the areas close to the line {like Pensacola where I live} it is not a problem. Just don't catch any Alabama fish. I am sure if you get 100 miles from the border and stay 6 months, they will come to see you. I used to live on Perdido bay, where the Fla-Ala line is down the middle, and all they cared about was my fishing license. Make sure you have taken the boat safey course for non-residents.

Here, this joke may answer your question...

Shall we bless the old Hillbilly Duck Hunter?
A good old hillbilly boy went hunting one day in West Virginia and bagged some Ducks. He put them in the bed of his pickup truck and was about to drive home when he was confronted by an angry game warden who didn't like Hillbillies.
The game warden ordered the Hillbilly to show his hunting license, and The hillbilly pulled out a valid West Virginia hunting license. The game warden, looked at the license, then reached over and picked up one of the ducks, sniffed its butt, and said, "This duck ain't from West Virginia . This is a Tennessee duck. You got a Tennessee huntin' license, boy?"The hillbilly reached into his wallet and produced a Tennessee hunting License. The game warden looked at it, then reached over and grabbed the
Second duck, sniffed its butt, and said, "This ain't no Tennessee duck. This here duck's from Kentucky . You got a Kentucky license?" The hillbilly reached into his wallet and produced a Kentucky hunting License. The warden then reached over and picked up the third duck, sniffed its butt, and said, "This ain't no Kentucky duck. This here duck's from South Carolina. You got a South Carolina huntin' license?" Again the hillbilly reached into his wallet and brought out a South Carolina Hunting license.
The game warden was extremely frustrated at this point, and he yelled at the Hillbilly, "Boy, just where the heck are you from?" The hillbilly turned around, dropped his pants,
bent over, and said, "You Tell me. You're the expert."
