Biker gangs (as opposed to biker clubs or associations) are, by nature and definition, outlaw biker gangs. They have their own rules and procedures and although they may occasionally contribute good deeds with 'rides for kids', etc., they are primarily based on illegal criminal activity. As a LEO I met quite a few and some of them I actually liked as people. As gang members, however, their intent was and is clearly to engage in and profit from criminal activities. Do some research for yourself. Find out what their gang actually stands for. Find out what some of their jacket badges stand for ... that may surprise you. Decide for yourself, but never (I repeat, never) touch or make any disparaging remarks about their 'colours' (jackets). No-one can ever say they don't have pride in themselves and their gang.

Although I've yet to read any of the books written by Mr. Barger, I would like to. His group of 1%'s is one of the most infamous, and at the same time most widely known on this planet. We personally should never judge anyone without at least talking to them. Until that day comes I can only say watch what you say and/or do. As many of my friends are bikers I know that some things are never tolerated. Even though you may think the worst of a person, you can bet there is something that they STRONGLY believe in, and you don't want to draw the wrath of that individual or his BROTHERS. I did read the book written by the cop who had infiltrated this group but I have a hard time believing that it isn't some self-aggrandizing rag. We all know that to get in he had to lie, now he expects us to believe that trash he writes. It's a good thing the book was only 25 cents.

Both. My best friend's dad is in a biker gang who is buddies with the Hell's Angels. They aren't the best of people to be around, let me tell ya. I never witnessed anything, but I've seen what they can do on RealTV and such.

Every member of the Hell's Angels is involved in illegal activity. It is not the sort of thing where a few members are dealing dope without everyone's knowledge. No, every member is expected to fight, sling dope and even kill for the club if need be.
These are bad people and don't let a few charity events fool you.

being a biker my selfe of 30 years i will tell you how it is if one person closed a fight with 40 people around we all as indivisuals say I DID IT, then knowbody is in trouble. the best advise i can give you though is dont ask to many ? dont ask dont tell. bikers are people that live two lives. and that is dangerous depending on the person.

FYI. The Hells Angels are bad people. It's organized crime at its worst. Mainly drugs and money laundering. There is nothing innocent about them. Read up on their history it's pretty scary stuff.
