Our arrangement has been the same for a couple years now. We both have one prior DUI and what usually happens is I pay for us to get in to wherever we're going, we take my car (he doesn't have to chip in for gas), I buy 1 or 2 beers for him at the beginning of the evening and by the end of the night, he drives us both home.

Last week, I won free tickets to see a show 50 miles away in San Francisco. My friend came along and unlike most of the other times before, he kept up with me drink for drink. When it came time to drive home he just got in the driver's seat as usual & 10 miles down the highway, we get pulled over. The police take him away & I am released to a taxi to drop me off at a local fleabag motel. My car was impounded & as it stands I already have invested $350 with motel, cab, and getting my car out of impound.

This is his 2nd DUI... how much guilt should I be feeling & how much do I owe my best friend? He's looking at maybe $5,000 all together, not to mention jail time.

While going through few yahoo questions I have come across , American Christian got married with a Hindu Indian according to Hindu form of marriage without converting to Hindu religion . Such marriage itself was illegal as according to the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 only two Hindus can marry according to Hindu form of marriage. Such marriage even got registered by the Marriage registrar which itself is wrong & illegal but as it happens by bribing such a marriage registrar the marriage certificate are being precured, which is being used by the parties for immigration to USA on the basis of marriage with an American person. The immigration department of USA send such a marriage certificate for verification through their Embassy in India who further have panel of lawyers appointed by the US government, simply confirm the marriage certificate as valid without going into the legality of the marriage itself, on this confirmation given by the Indian lawyers the US Govt. allows the immigration.

The deadline for having studded tires off of your car is April 15th in my state. On April 17th we were scheduled to get 3 inches of snow. I drive a dangous mountain everyday and feel that I used common sence by not having them taken off by the 15th. Unfortunatly I got pulled over on the 21st and was ticketed. I informed the officer that I was having them taken off the next day (on the weekend - and I did), but still got the ticket. I have the weather report from that week showing the poor conditions that were called for. What else can I do in hopes of having the ticket thrown out? Any advise is appreciated.

2005 Ontario Medal for Police Bravery Recipients:

Provincial Constable Todd Bremner
Ontario Provincial Police, Oxford Detachment

On September 9, 2004, the Oxford OPP received a report that a transport
truck driver planned to commit suicide on Highway 401 by running out in front
of other trucks. Surveillance was set up immediately along the 401. Constable
Bremner was driving east on the highway when he saw a truck parked on the
westbound exit ramp to Drumbo Road. The truck driver had left his vehicle and
was walking toward the 401. Bremner made an emergency crossover through the
high volume of oncoming traffic to reach the exit. He then left his cruiser in
the ditch and ran behind the truck driver. Reaching the passing lane, the
truck driver was hit by two vehicles; uninjured, he kept going. Bremner put
his own life at risk by running across the highway and single-handedly
stopping the man

The Law Enforcement involvement with Special Olympics New Jersey began 23 years ago when Port Authority of New York and New Jersey officer Stephen Vitale was asked to photograph a local Special Olympics competition. Vitale was so moved by the athletes and their determination that he encouraged other officers to volunteer their time. From that flicker of interest, a legion of Law Enforcement support was ignited and today, the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New Jersey is a year-round “Champion” sponsor.

In 1984, the first New Jersey Torch Run was conceived to raise funds and awareness for the Special Olympics program. Today the Torch Run travels 950 miles, originating in 27 separate points statewide, and travels through 384 communities, with some 2,700 officers from all branches of law enforcement participating.

Charitable Virginia cops save Christmas

CNN.com

RICHMOND, Va.- Christmas was saved for a single mother and her son when officers from the Louisa Sheriff’s Department stepped in to play Santa.

Robin Robinson Fetrow saved all year for her son, Brandon’s holiday gifts, only to find them all stolen from beneath their tree last week.

With the list of items stolen, officers investigating the crime contacted the department chaplain, who worked with the community church to raise funds to replace the stolen gifts. Members of the department also pitched in, leaving Brandon with even more gifts than before.

"I’m overwhelmed with the kindness and generosity of the people in this county,” Fetrow said. “My son is going to have a great Christmas."

My stepson and I are planning on paying back a bus company on the value of the tickets my 14-year-old stepson has counterfeited to get to school. (this will be coming out of his money) However, I'm not so sure what is the best way to settle this issue. I know that this bus company is pretty malicious and not the most kindest people in the world. Im not so sure whether I should settle this in person, but I'm leaning towards that. My stepson fears and is worried about how they will react, considering that they know how he looks like when they caught him using those tickets. Not to mention, we will also be riding that bus to go the company for pay them back. I'm not so sure what we should say to them? Also, if they did press charges on him, will paying restitution help in his sentencing? (I truly fear that he will get sent to a detention facility, because in my state, the parents have to pay $100 daily for the stay, and i am unable to afford that)

I'm the proud parent of an Amstaff (also known as Amercain Pit Bull). My baby is gentel, sweet, well-behaved, and smart. He helped my babysitt my 7 month old nephew and even was a comforting shoulder to cry on after my husband left.
Three months ago he was RAN OVER/MURDERED by a Kansas State Trooper by my home. The police said that he was a danger and that was the only way to get him. I'm calling all pet parents to stand up for this injustice. PUNISH THE DEED NOT THE BREED!!!
