So.. they didn't find your drugs and you want them back. Sorry, sister. The dogs have already sniffed it out by now. DON'T go back to pick up your car. Go to Canada and lay low for a while.

I actually work in Asset Forfeiture - we don't want your camera. They are probably keeping this in relation to the reason you car was seized in the first place. The wallet is also being kept for investigative purposes. Deal with it. Have the owner of the vehicle contact who seized the vehicle and ask what the status is. Simple as that.

"Kitty Kat" pretty much said it all....each department has their own procedures.
When seizing property under the Asset Forteiture laws, often times there is property that is of little monetary value and greater benefit when returning to the owner.
In cases like this my own division procedure is to return that type property.
A telephone call to the seizure agency explaning your request will normally get you what you need!
However, the seizure is a civil action, therefore, you can contest the seizure of the personal property, aside from the vehicle, when the case is heard in court.
Best wishes.

Contact the Impound Office and ask them how you can your property back that was left in a car and describe the items to them if they ask.
If the car is in someone else's name, you will most likely have to have the owner go down and get the items or if they are in jail, ask the Office how to go about getting paperwork from the owner to retrieve your belongings. Every department has their own policy so call and see what your department says.

It depends on the Police department's SOP and why the car was seized. If it was involved in a criminal act then no you can not get your things back until the investigation is done.

contact the police department and ask them...sometime they will let you retrieve personal stuff (like wallet containing drivers license, social security, credit cards) stuff like that, but depending on why the seized your car you may not get the camera back

Easy - Don't do the crime to start with and your car wouldn't be seized. No sympathy here....

Ask them for it. Sometimes they may let you have it. Does not hurt to ask.
