In Illinois, a motorcyclist has a the choice of whether or not to wear a helmet. Why don't motorists get the choice of whether or not to wear a seat belt?
I usually wear mine, but "click-it or ticket" is enforce right now so there has been a lot of griping and I have heard people make this comparison in the last few days. Thanks!

We have thousands of gun laws on the books right now. One example is the outlawing of automatic weapons. Two weeks ago the FBI raided the home of a paramilitary group that was going to attack mexicans. They found automatic weapons, mines, even some sort of rocket launchers. Just as with illegal drugs in this country. As long as their are people who are willing to buy them. Their will be people willing to sell them. Come back to the real world. Proabition put a stop to drinking, didn't it?

I was reading on yahoo that a policeman tested the tazer gun on himself and has reported that it is safe to be used on everyone who it gets used on.But.....what if it gets used on a person with epilepsy?
its not like the police are going to ask the person theyr chasing if they suffer with epilepsy.i mean that sends 50,000volt electric shocks through your body and to an epileptic that could cause serious fits or even result to the person dying.
i suffer with epilepsy and not that im going to get into trouble with the police i think that it should be taken away and something that is truly safe to every1 to be used instead.
what r your thoughts?

I haven't heard from my husband in 12 hours. He was going fishing early this morning. The last time he called me they were having some problem with the boat. He has not called since. He is one of those people who constantly calls everybody. His phone is ringing (not going straight to voicemail like it would if dropped in water or something). I am just worried and would like to call someone if there happened to be a problem with them on the water maybe they could help. But, I don't want people to think I am some crazy wife. His truck and his buddy's truck is where they left them. They were picked up by a third friend with a boat. Is it too soon to call someone?

give examples of circumstances of when you would break down and call the police on someone else. Ex: college students always having drunken parties in front of your house.

There's something I don't understand about this show. The perpetrator sends pictures of his privates to an undercover police officer he thinks is a minor. Then he arrives at the house, intending to have sex with a minor.

But at no point is there any real minor. So how has any crime been committed?

Is it merely his intention, even if no minor exists?

If this is the case, then imagine this scenario:

A man with poor vision sees an old lady walking down the street. He comes up to her, thinking she is a child, and sexually propositions her.

Is he then guilty of sexual assault on a minor, even if there was no minor because, for whatever reason, the perpetrator was misinformed?

I find this mysterious!

I can understand when there's an actual minor in the mix somewhere. But when it's just a bunch of misled adults, how can they be guilty of child abuse? There was no child!

I was married in 1999, my husband and I divorced in 2001. I haven't even seen him since then. He has remarried and had some children. The other day, I had a visit from a state trooper, they said they were looking for him, I asked them what for, and they couldn't disclose that information to me. I told them that we have been divorced for 5 1/2 years. They did however say that they know he is not with the wife and his family hasn't seen him in 9 months. Curious, I called his mother, sure enough she hasn't seen him and they had a huge falling out. I am just real curious as to why a state trooper?

I feel it is more of a charade than actual security. Shouldn't just having armed sky marshalls be enough to secure our planes.

A friend of mine said he had 2 beers and they found some marijuanna in his vehicle when he ran a yield sign and hit an elderly lady. She got out of her car and was fine, but when she was taken to the hospital, she died.
What happens now? He was taken to jail and bail was posted.

I'll start. I live in a small town, and the cops we have here are wonderful. They do their job, they don't shoot people unnecessarily, and they aren't corrupt. Even the state patrol cops we have are super. They are members of our community, they support our local charities, they root for the home team. All of this while protecting some a**holes right to bad mouth them.

It's just too easy to speak ill of the people who are serving and protecting.

How about some good things. And if you can't manage that DO NOT answer my question.

I'll keep all the cops in my prayers.

I was wondering if you guys could answer a quick question.
I bought a Kevlar vest online a couple of years ago that was supposed to offer level IIIA protection.
The vest didn't come with the extra (and very expensive) clay disks that go into the back, front and side panels.
My question is whether the vest itsself offers enough of a barrier to stop a bullet or whether the ranked saftely level applies to the vest with the inserts.

Thanks.

e) cruel during War, Some Irish are too short-tempered, Some Reservation Indians drink too much, Some Muslims are murderers, etc., etc.
I admit that some racists will use this information to criticize all members of the groups mentioned, but they are already racists and will find always find some reason to criticize.
When a non-racist wants to help one of these groups, say the blacks or the indians, how can he help if he is going to be called a racist? How can you help anyone if you don't first admit that there is a problem, and name the problem? You can't help by hiding the problem. The group with the problem can't help themselves by pretending that the problem does not exist.
Shouldn't the people who answer on this Yahoo Answers service stop shouting racist everytime someone mentions a problem that some members of a particular group have? Couldn't most of the country's racial problems have been solved years ago, if we weren't afraid to discuss them honestly and openly?
