I was married in 1999, my husband and I divorced in 2001. I haven't even seen him since then. He has remarried and had some children. The other day, I had a visit from a state trooper, they said they were looking for him, I asked them what for, and they couldn't disclose that information to me. I told them that we have been divorced for 5 1/2 years. They did however say that they know he is not with the wife and his family hasn't seen him in 9 months. Curious, I called his mother, sure enough she hasn't seen him and they had a huge falling out. I am just real curious as to why a state trooper?

The town or county looking for him might not have thir own police force so the state troopers do the enforcement for them

As an officer, I speed to catch up to different vehicles so I can run their plates to check their status ie. registered, fictitious plates, owner suspended driver's license etc... If I go the speed limit, I will be with the same vehicle until the end of my Twp. Another reason, just because I don't have my lights and siren on, doesn't mean that I'm not going to a call. Many times it is easier to get through traffic not using the lights and siren. Ask yourself what you do when you see emergency lights. Hopefully you slow down and pull to the right of the roadway. Well, with everyone slowing down and trying to pull to the right lane, naturally it slows everything down including me. Hope this helps. Some cops do speed all the time regardless of what they are doing, but most of the time, there is a reason for it.

State troopers don't come just to visit, he must have committed a crime.

He likely is either involved in a crime, or is a victim. What else would it be? And how the heck would any of us know?
