A friend of mine said he had 2 beers and they found some marijuanna in his vehicle when he ran a yield sign and hit an elderly lady. She got out of her car and was fine, but when she was taken to the hospital, she died.
What happens now? He was taken to jail and bail was posted.

It all sounds kind of freaky to me. She got out of the car and was walking around and actually talked to him after the collision. He said her car wasnt smashed up or damaged.
I dont want personal opinions here, save it. We already know he was wrong. I just want to know what happens in the legal system. I want to know what kind of sentence is possible and how long this all takes.

He was alone, and no one aided or abetted. He lives 100 miles away in Indiana, so I am not sure what the laws are in that state.

he goes to jail. he deserves to go to prison for a couple of years. he was responsible for driving while under the influence and killing a woman with his car while using drugs. he will most probably go to prison.

If this friend of yours is responsible for the death of that woman, than he deserves prison. He cut someones life short.
