apparently i was served papers at my old job... the new girl who works there thought the guy was a courier, and signed for me like she has many times in the past since the courier company doesn't realize i have left... that was over a month ago, and she just mailed the paperwork after it sat in her desk this whole time...

it appears as though the papers were served by a law office for at&t on an account i've never had. nevermind the whole identity theft portion of this, that's going to be my next step, but will the judge have issued a bench warrant for my arrest for failure to appear in court? if so, would it be valid only in the county where issued, or would it be valid statewide?

thanks for your help, i've never been in trouble with the law before and i don't want to make things worse by ignoring the problem!

I recently asked this ? in surveys. Let's try again in "Law/Police. I worked as a medic for 25 years...big city. I have never , and do not know of any Paramedic who has transported a "pot" patient who actually required treatment. To the best of my medical knowledge, there exists no possible "Overdose". I would estimate that (because of the zones I worked in) nearly 30 to 40% of all runs I ever did were alcohol related. Police! My friends...my co-workers of so many years. You guys know the truth. I am not supporting the smoking of marijuana, strictly said, the less smoke in one's lungs, the better. Isn't all the effort and money spent less important than dealing with the really dangerous substances out there. Cops...a last ? Who are you likely to tangle with? A s-faced drunk or a pot smoker?

I think the laws are too vague and open to misinterpretation. One mistake will cost you. I mean I am a relatively new driver with little experience but I have never gotten into a traffic violation, only petty parking ticket fines. From the very day I began driving, which was about 5-6 months ago, to the this day I have
received over 4-6 tickets, totaling over 500 dollars. An average ticket costs $65 and double parking costs $115. I have only gotten one ticket reduced and the rest founded guilty. I no longer believe in the myth of beating tickets. It seems as if the traffic officers are hell bent on fining every single person for the slightest bit of violations. I have no respect for these people and their way of living. Most of them have no sympathy for drivers nowadays and never give the drivers a chance to explain themselves. Plus, the cost of living is rising, let alone driving and the ridiculous cost of gas prices nowadays.
Should drivers have a say on the ticket prices and rules?

Last Thursday at my apartment complex, a kid drove his truck into my car. After the accident, i got out of the car and asked him for his insurance. I told him the damage was minor so i didnt want to file a police report but that i did want to call his insurance company. This was Thursday of last week. His insurance company is telling me to get an appraisal but they told me he has not answered their phone calls to claim responsibility. What can i do, if i dont have a police report? Is it still too late to file one? There were witnesses at the apartment that saw everything. The guy who hit me lives at the complex... Any ideas anyone?

A recent call to court has a line in a witness statement as:

"At the time of the offence no Police Radios or mobile phones were not in use or transmitting." (My quotes).

In relation to a temporary speed-gun (type LTI 20/20 TS/M) and the double negative could I argue that the gun might well have been incorrect from interference from a large number of sources? How would a court react?

Thanks.

If a teenage couple get married in one state or country, then visit another state or country where one or both of them is below the legal age of consent, do they have to refrain from having sex while in the second place?

I have no personal reasons for asking this question. I'm just interested in finding out the answer, having followed a debate on related legal issues in the newspapers where I live. (I asked a similar question some time ago on this forum and got a variety of different and contradictory answers--so maybe there will be more success this time around.) No guesses please--just answer if you know the answer. Thanks!

I had a traffic infraction (not a misdemenor or felony) and I wanted to know if it would show up on a background check. I would think not because infractions are not criminal offenses, they are civil ones.
