Friend who was arrested for DUI would have told the police about the robbery, only one person in the group has to have the gun for all to be guilty of armed robbery.

This is serious, no they do not beat things out of people,
Your son needs an attorney. But no I am sure the person who confessed, most likely the first boy arrested, told them about gun,.

If the Canadian police are beating your son, then this marks the first time ever that someone accused Canadians of using force.

If one kid was driving drunk, then he got arrested. Let's assume they were all drunk. People do stupid things when they are drunk. While armed robbery could be with a gun, it could also be with a bat or something else. In the United States, many states call it "aggravated robbery" and you don't even have to have a weapon to be charged with this. There just needs to be serious circumstances... perhaps the threat of serious harm to one person... or the actual harming of that person... or the fact that there were three suspects and maybe only one victim. All of these are aggravating factors. Bottom line is if your son was arrested in another country, he won't be coming home any time soon.

Agreed with above, i'd head that direction. Police can be some of the most crooked people if some cases, i'd be there to get to the bottom of this. I was driving home doing nothing wrong at all and I got pulled over by a dps officer and was told on the intercom to get out of the vehical and lay on the ground. I couldn't figure out what the hell was going on but I did it anyway. He said I had been reported street racing and vandalizing local property even though I had been at work at that said time. I drove a black honda prelude and after laying in handcuffs for like 5 minutes the dispatcher came on the radio and said it was a red mazda miata and a man in his late 40's. Needless to say I was pissed off, moral of the story is they are known to act first and then figure out whats going on.

If it were my son, I would be on my way already. You need to at least be there for him. If there is any truth to the accusations, he will get his just punishment in due time.

Get a lawyer. You can't tell for sure that they did or didn't do and whether or not they had a weapon because you weren't with them. Just get a lawyer.
