Hey guys. I am17 years old and just got caught with alcohol. I am charged with possession of alcohol by a minor. I am not going to jail or anything but I got a180 dollar ticket. My question to you is, I guess, do you think if I plead not guilty if you think I could get off the hook or get the fine lowered? My defense would be that I didnot pay for the alcohol and it was not mine. Do you think this defense could work? and please...no insults,I feel like sh*t about this as it is.

I was out at a restaurant with a few friends last week in NJ. My pal attempted to buy a beer and was carded. He told the waiter he was 21 and said he left his ID in the car. He said he would go get it and we all subsequentely left the restaurant.

Is my friend or I in any legal trouble? I know it is against the law, but if there was not a cop there, can/will the restaurant call the cops and file a police report? What will be the consequences? Will my friend or I be arrested or will it just be a citation? How can I find out?

I was reading some posts in a forum in which I came across a particular post in which a man admitted he has sexual fantasies of children. I know technically he didn't break a law, but is there a way i can report it to any authority, or is there a organization that tracks potential sexual predators.

I have a friend who is incarcerated in Nassau County, NY. She has an open case in Staten Island criminal court (also in NY) and I had bailed her out of the Rikers Island jail last May for $500. I appeared for her this past court appearance which was January 18th and explained to her attorney that she was re-arrested on Nov. 24th 2006 on a DWI and is being held because we cannot afford to bail her out. That is why she didn't appear in court. The judge issued a warrant for her arrest b/c she wasn't produced. Now they say when she is released from the Nassau County Jail, she will be picked up by Rikers Island and taken back to jail because she failed to appear in court. I need to know what her options are because no one seems to be telling me anything and is it legal to issue a warrant for the arrest of someone who is already incarcerated? It was not her fault the jail did not produce her to meet this court date... any help or insight would be appreciated.....

They always come up wit the "the reason I pulled you over was...broken taillight, swerving etc " excuse, but I just know for a fact they they follow people, especially young blacks and hispanics for a few blocks just waiting for the slightest little driving mistake so they can have an excuse to pull them over and search them. I hate it when they do that.

Prohibition pushes drug prices up thus making them highly profitable for trafficking. High prices pushes addict to mug, steal, burglarize or murder. Let's RUIN THE BAD GUYS LEGALIZE DRUGS.
Bring treatment to addicts, regulate them and beat the bad guys instead we are beating ourselves with our present laws.

Most violent crime in the USA is committed by Blacks. Of the rest, most is committed by Hispanics. Without those two races the USA's crime rate would be comparable to Germany's or Switzerland's.

Does anyone know if its legal to possess a tazer stun gun in a commercial vehicle for self defense, I would imagine CA wouldn't allow it. But what about more normal, non-liberal wacko states? What about regular guns or other weapons? Let's not turn this into a debate on the right to protect one's self, or whether we want truck drivers to have weapons. We're no different than anyone else, except we carry, at times, some very expensive merchandise or hazmat cargo.
