so i am taking criminal justice classes and i know from what they have told me about the jurisdictions that if you are traveling on a road and it turns into another county or city the police from the city before cannot pull you over because its not in that city anymore well my friend got busted with weed and they said they could follow him for as long as they could see his brake lights i keep telling him to fight this i am right ?

As a rule, I believe the police about what the law says. In any case, I think they law SHOULD agree with what the police are claiming in this case.

If they cross the line and cant give tickets there, then how can they see is lights a mile away, or give him a ticket if they have to stop in their county, I am not sure, but maybe if they are following them in the first place, they should call the next county to take over.

you've been watching too many movies an tv shows. In Massachusetts, I can tell you than you CAN be stopped in another city/town if you have probable cause that an ARRESTABLE offense is being committed, ie, drunk driving, failure to stop for police- other states may have lower thresholds for stops outside of their normal jurisdiction
