Law Enforcement & Police - November 2006

The rules on carrying liquids onto planes have been relaxed today - you are now allowed 100ml per container up to 1l.

Why is this amount of fluid not a danger to travellers today, if it was yesterday? Have they "uninvented" the explosives they were scared about? Was it a mistake to ban small quantities of liquids in the first place? Or was it all just an exercise to keep us scared and backing the "War on Terror" - especially in light of tomorrow's US elections?

Does anyone know how to get out of paying a speeding fine? I was flashed doing 40 last night in a 30 zone (this is a busy road that I have always thought was a 40 zone and have been using regulary for 4 years!)

I feel really stupid getting caught but really had no clue that it was a 30 zone - all my own fault granted but all the same!

I think there are ways to challenge the fine but not sure how to do this does anyone else know how to do it? There are online solicitors who will claim to be able to do this for a fee but I don't know if these actually work?

Any help would be great - thanks!!

My partner passed me a bag of amphetamine and i got caught with it i have no prior record i do not even take drugs i am being charged with possesion with intent to sell because it was a large amount i am terriaby worried as i am studying to be a youth worker and have worked hard all my life to maintain a clean record if i am charged i wont be able to pursue my life goals what can i do? is there any chance i wont get convicted and get a criminal record?

Okay...so i was given 3 tickets 1 for speeding 85/55 and the other two were weaving and tailgating.....i was doing this because i was in a rush to get to school yes i know stupid..but newaiz...so this is what i was wondering...i have to go to court tomorrow and i was wondering what i should do or what i should expect the thing is i cannot get a conviction on my record as it will make me lose my job as a military inteligence soldier in the army and i am currently not available with teh funds to get a lawyer as i have just recently also had a kid =/ so this has been really a rough time for me...Im supposed to ship out to iraq in may but if i lose this job then ill have to start all over with another job in the military one that i wont be able to choose so i need to know what i can do...i know i made the mistakes of speeding/whatever else but i dont know what to do please give advice :(

needed a place to keep it.They offered to let us keep it there and her grandpa had no problems with the arrangement.It turned out that the girl had been saying bad stuff about us and our child.I told her that I didn't want anything else to do with her, but she went on to send me nasty and threatening text messages.I told my boyfriend to ignore her, but he is hot headed and called her up.She told him to never show up on her property or she would shoot him in the head. So we got his brother to go out there to get the boat, but it was gone.When we called them up she said that we must have tresspassed on her land and got it already.So since she decided to lie and be difficult we went to the police.They told us it was a civil matter and they couldn't search the property unless we had proof it was there somewhere.How do we get proof without trespassing?We tried to talk to her Grandpa, that didn't work.Its just not fair that they will probably get away with this.What do we do, what CAN we do

One night I was walking home from playing basketball and a Police car pulled up to me. They asked me for my Driver's License and asked me questions like "What gang am I in?" and "Who is my probation officer?". I live in Arizona, and Sheriff Joe Arpaio has implemented an English-only policy in his jails. It's mandatory for people in jail to learn English and speak English. What do you think? Also, why are we keeping Mexicans in our U.S. jails?
