I did not know guns had the ability to commit violence. No guns should not be outlawed and can not be outlawed, we have a Constitution that gives us the right to have them remember. What we do need are stricter laws concerning guns and the ability for just anyone to get them. It would also help if anyone that owns a gun was required to take safety lessons and be held partially responsible if their gun is used to commit a crime. You should also state your sources cause from my research you are wrong on your numbers.

FACT:In 2003 (the most recent year for which data is available), there were 30,136 gun deaths in the U.S:

* 16,907 suicides (56% of all U.S gun deaths),
* 11,920 homicides (40% of all U.S gun deaths),
* 730 unintentional shootings (2% of all U.S gun deaths),
* 347 from legal intervention and 232 from undetermined intent
(2% of all U.S gun deaths combined).

-Numbers obtained from CDC National Center for Health Statistics mortality report online, 2006.

Absolutely not, in a society that everyone has guns if you outlaw guns the only people with guns are the criminals. Your 13,000 murders would skyrocket, as well as robberies, rape, carjacking, assaults etc. Taking guns from honest people is a ridiculous idea if you reasonably think about all the bad stuff that would inevitably happen. Oh yeah, the second admendment!

No it is drugs mostly that cause the violence.

But no guns can't be outlawed anyway, since it is Americans constitutional rights to own them.

And a gun laying on a shelf or in a hostler does not kill anyone,

Cars kill more people, so do you want to outlaw cars too.

When are people who think you do going to realize a gun is an inanimate object, and can do nothing on its own. Man has been killing each other, BEFORE GUNS WERE EVER INVENTED. Also, when are people like your kind going to put responsibility on the real culprits, instead of the gun?

No. As the saying goes, guns don't kill people, people kill people. I believe guns should be our right to protect ourselves. If they are outlawed, the only one that will have them are the criminals and the government. Scary thought. We should be able to have them as long as they are registered and kept safe from our children.

i don't think they should be outlawed completely but i do think they should be more strict on who is permitted to have one and who is permitted to sell them. I think one of the rules of getting a permit is showing where they will keep them locked away so children do not get them. when i was younger i od on pills i was young and dumb, then couple yrs. later my step dad wanted me to get something from his gun safe so he told me the combo my dad found out and was very upset given my history if i was still suicidal i could've blew my brains out!

yes thay should be outlawed. this society dose not deserve the right to have firearms. mater of fact you should be striped of most of your rights because you do not respect the republic enuff to deserv it. than once you relize how presices our rights are you will be give the chanc to fight for them but only with a pitch fork to show you why our for farthers did it the way that did it.
crime is at this all time high because out morals do not mater any more. our youth spends all day geting wasted and wishing thay were rap stars. our adults are so into them selves thay do not teach there children how to be moral and protect their personal rights.
yes, i do think all guns should be out lawed, and than mabey our future will appricate them.

No . They should do like Texas did and pass a Concealed Handgun Law.That would bring most murders down.

Why would that matter? Most murder weapons are un-liscenced! Therefore it would'nt make a difference! There still is a big drug problem here in America, is there not?
