I need a clear driving record and I did not know my license was expired and a cannot have any violations for driving on a suspended license. Does it count as the same?

An expired license is a license that is not valid. You cannot drive with a license that is expired. Depending on how long it has been expired, you can be fined for driving with it. Best to keep it updated and renew it before it expires. Having a driver's license is a privilege that can be easily misconstrued as a right.

No. Big difference. Expired is just that, expired. Suspended on the other hand is a bad thing as it has been taken away from you for an offense committed by you... And in most cases, it takes a pretty bad offense to have a court or motor vehicle dept. to suspend a drivers license. Hopefully you weren't cited for driving with an expired license.... that would be a bad thing....

an expired license is considered valid but expired a suspended license is a much more serious offense and it means that something was done to cause it's suspension i.e driving without insurance drug convictions etc.

no if caught it would be driving on an expired licence, or driving without a valid license.

A suspended license is one where the judge suspends it for some other traffic offense

No. Suspended is for a reason, expired is just expired.

Get it renewed, it'll be fine, just don't get caught driving with it expired.

No, but it is driving without a license and holds a fine better take care of that as soon as possible. DMV knows people forget.
