Do they switch frequencies at random? If so, how are they synchronized? Do they monitor body heat? Is there a wire running through the strap, and if so, what prevents someone from filing down the rubber and attaching bypass wires to keep the circuit closed while the strap is being cut? Where can I buy a NEW house arrest anklette and monitor? Would it be legal to offer a "house arrest hacking kit" on Ebay?

In b.c the ferries appled for and recieved government approval for a surcharge to defray fuel costs. this was to be dropped when fuel prices went down. This neverhappened when prices of fuel dropped The fuel price is lower now than when they where allowed the surcharge.I was informed that if I or my company did that I could be charged with obtaining money under false pretences . Is this not the same thing.

a friend of mine just got a felony DUI, she actually rear ended a police car. She has no record, and is a prominent member of our community. She has retained a lawyer. Whats the worst that could happen?

It seems "cop killers" are hunted down with much greater urgency than murderers who victimize other citizens....I think this is a double standard and, while understandable from the point of view of the police, is entirely unfair to the rest of us. This is a GREATLY exaggerated case of coworkers going the extra mile for each other which does not happen elsewhere, and all at taxpayer expense. If you are a law enforcement agent, please justify this response or tell me I am wrong to hold this belief if I am mistaken.

Example: Rodney King. Yes, the guy sped and was high on PCP, but at the point he stopped resisting they just kept beating him with nightsticks.

I have even heard of wheelchair bound inmates at Tent City (Maricopa County, stomping grounds of Sheriff Hoe-Boe-Joe) being tasered for lingering in the food line too long.

Why do police officers beat or kill unarmed civilians when they clearly know it is illegal and a violation of law, the same laws they are supposedly said to uphold?

Seriously, if you are a police officer and you see your comrade beating someone up unjustly, do you just laugh and go along with your chum, or do you actually act as a human being and defend the person being pummeled?

Are cops even human beings anymore, or are they just pre-programmed robots, oblivious to right and wrong?

I was watching Miami CSI one night and I heard the detectives speak in regards to an offshore gambling ring that was going on. They also made the statement that they did not have "jurisdiction" over the crime location but later in the show they made the arrests at that same location without ever explaining further details about the jurisdiction issue. Can anyone help me with this?

I don't have the vaguest idea about this, but here goes...
I'm interested in becoming an FBI profiler, but I'm a South African citizen, who immigrated to Canada about two months ago (and I'll soon become a Canadian citizen).
What do I need in high school to study profiling, can I become a profiler, and is it worth it?
I'd really appreciate it if someone who knew a profiler personally could answer this, or a profiler would be even better, though I doubt that they go onto this site a lot.
Thank you.

It costs an average of 45,000 dollars a year to imprison, feed, cloth, and gaurd a prison inmate, a man in the US can live quite comfortable on 45 thousand a year, for a family it would be tough but still. On the other hand you can feed thousands in a third world country where the US dollar is like gold. In addition jails in the USA are becoming increasingly overpopulated, so the alternative to a new system is a whole slew of new jails Considering all this could lashes or something of the sort be a viable alternative to jail time for crimes like armed robbery and minor assult, things that people commit all the time, get 5-20 years and clog the system, could corporal punishment be the answer?

Sure some are falsely accused of crimes but for the most part those that complain are the ones that are guilty of something. If your guilty of a crime dont expect the people that we pay to protect us to be nice to you.

My soon to be ex is refusing to pay child support, alimony or do anything the court ordered. He motioned against the order and lost. My attorney said we had to give him two weeks. That will be Monday. In full the order was placed on Sept. 1. That is over a month and a half.
I tried to check on line and from what I gathered my ex can motion the show cause order. Very sickening if that is true. What are my chances of ever seeing a dime? We have little food and my little guy needs winter clothes. I need to get back to work and I dont have money for day care. Because of the court order and his income I can not get state aid for daycare. We are above the poverty level. He makes over $150,000 a year!! He claims only $23,000 on taxes!
Help with info please! I need to know the process of Show Cause hearings. Thank you.
