Loud music is a public nuisance but regulating it is very hard especially in cars due to mobility. It can be complained when there is a policeman at the stoplight intersection.

We have laws like that in Florida--not so much for the vulgarity, but for the loudness. If you are making noise of any kind and it can be heard more than 25 feet away at any time of day you can be fined.

There is a law in Illinois regarding this. It states that music from a vehicle can not be heard at a distance of 75 feet. The fine is $75 for 1st offense, and can lead to confiscation of the vehicle on subsequent violations.

There is a law against it, it is called noise pollution and over so many decibels you can be cited for it. That does not just cover radios, vehicles with modified exhaust can also get a citation for that.

there should be a law against all you people who want to make new laws for everything. WHo really gives a crap if you have to listen to my system shake the rust off your peice of dog doo car, for a few seconds. Oh and by the way there is a law in most municipalities alreay on the books, it's called disturbing the peice. or creating a public nusciance. Now shut your pie hole and get a real life. They should restrict the volume level of those worthless firetrucks, like I really care if someones life is in danger or their property is burning, I cant hear my system bump when those pesky sirens are going off behind me.

it's kind of like freedom of speech. You can't control what someone does in a car they bought, just like they can't control what you do. In some counties the police pulls people over with loud music, but I've only seen it happen once. Best you can do is ignore it.
