Anybody in particular?

First off, check with the clerk of the courts office. They will usually perform criminal background checks for a fee. You could go and do it yourself depending on how advanced their computer system is. Be sure to check both the misdemeanors court and felony court. That will tell you if a person was prosecuted on charges by them. If you want to be absolutely certain, you might also check the nearest Federal Court to see if the person appeared before them.

Also be careful of exact spellings and aliases. There might be a thousand cases with defendants named James Smith, you would have to ask to see the docket file on the cases and do some reading. Remeber to check dates. Obviously, a 22 year-old did not go to court before he was born, so you can cut some of the dockets out of your search.

Juvenile court records are usually sealed. You will have to ask the clerk of the court how to view those files.
