I have looked on the mn post board, went thrugh the law liabary and I can not find any rules of what he can and can not do to me. there are not many statues, most of them are only for certafaction, dissaplen, and education for a police officer. none regarding if and when they can come in your home or if and when they can search your car. I know some where out there, is a book, or the alike for public viewing. Whear is it, how can I get a hold of it?

my mom went to court on 9-18 and was told her license would be suspended 90 days, however the main office that sends you a restricted route license, has no idea about her license being suspended and can't send her the restricted ones to drive to work until they get it. We live in SC if that makes a difference. I'm just confused as to why the local court said suspended and the DMV says it's not.

I stopped to talk to a cop the other day to ask him what his radar gun went up to and he replied "188mph". When I asked him why they topped out at 188mph, he replied, and I quote "because they don't make anything that will go faster than 188mph on the road."

Are cops really and truly that ignorant?

I got home from work today to find someone had knocked our wall down - I have a fair idea who's responsible.
I've reported it to the police, and got a crime number (filed under criminal damage) - but what sort of evidence would they need to bring a prosecution?

On Sunday, myself, husband, 3 children and our dog visited a local petstore. We tried a dog sweater on our basset and it was too small so i told the kids we would look somewhere else another time, so we left and went to lunch. 2 hours later an officer shows up in front of our house, i was at a baby shower at the time. The officer handcuffed my husband in front of my kids and told him he was a lying theft and that he knew he stole a dog sweater from this petstore. My husband of course denying these unbelievable accusations. All the while, my 10 yr old daughter crying her eyes out watching her stepdad in front of a squad car in handcuffs for 20 minutes with neighbors watching.Since there were children at home he had to let him go and gave him an order to appear in court. The next day i called demanding to speak to the officer and got no call back so i talked to another officer and he went to the store to watch the video and called me and said nothing on the tape is readable.

A "friend" of mine asked to borrow my car for a specific amount of time and purpose. His intension, however, was to take my car and not give it back. I didn't know when I lent him the car that he'd gotten into trouble with the law, and was intending to flee in my car. I let him borrow the car for a short time to run an errand, but it was not returned on time. In fact he had fled. I got the car back after it broke down and he took it to a shop for repair. He left my car at the shop and took their loaner, which he ran off in and abandoned in another state. Was my car stolen, and was there a crime? I live in Illinois.

Ok so my friend had her wallet stolen out of her car. (id, credit cards, money etc.) Somebody actually broke a window to get it out. The money was spent and she never got her id back. They soon caught 2 suspects. (credit cards unused). One of them admitted to stealing it. Now, like 6 months later she has a court date...what could the minimum and maximum charges be for stealing? I do not think there was too much money in the wallet..probably like $50 or something.

If you get approved for early release by the prison and by home confinement and the day you are to leave your probation officer slaps a VOP on you, once you go to court and clear up the VOP, is the early releases still good or do you have to go through the process again. The prison early release is still good, but does home confinement have to approve you again?

Okay I am going to try to put this in a short context. I had been sentenced to one year of probation (in a county I don't live in.) and I went up there for a whole year and paid off all my fines, and done everything I was supposed to. The problem is this. When I got off probation in July (2006) and I was done paying all my fines on the last visit to my probation officer she said that I have a warrant out for my arrest in that county. I have not gotten into any trouble (at all) and I have done everything the courts had told be to. The strangest part of all is this warrant was issued in January and she didn't tell me about it till July. After I paid the probation off. Can someone tell me whats going on???? PS: They said it was for Contempt of Court, but I never had a court date set after that one I went to.
