I have looked on the mn post board, went thrugh the law liabary and I can not find any rules of what he can and can not do to me. there are not many statues, most of them are only for certafaction, dissaplen, and education for a police officer. none regarding if and when they can come in your home or if and when they can search your car. I know some where out there, is a book, or the alike for public viewing. Whear is it, how can I get a hold of it?

I would say that generally if there is not probable cause, something like beer bottles in your backseat or marijuana growing next to your window, that there are not many reasons that they can force you to allow them to search your car. Remember though, in Minnesota, if you are asked to take a breathlyzer or field sobriety test, you are required to do so under state law. When you get a driver's license in Minnesota, you sign a waiver allowing this. I would suggest going to the Minnesota Attourney General's Office or contacting the attorney general. These would be good sources of information.

if the officer has reason to look through your vehicle then they are allowed to go through the vehicle. Say if you have empty beer bottles in the back seat or the box of your truck. If there is no other reason for them to look in your vehicle then they are legally not allowed to be inside the vehicle at the time of the check stop. If the have any reasons to believe that you have done something wrong than they have the right to look through your vehicle and to give you a breath alyzer test. (believe me its happened to me before)

Check your state's Code of Criminal Procedure, and stay out of trouble.
