I was on the freeway, and I passed one of those Sheriff Dept. SUV's, I didn't think they pulled anyone over for some reason. He just slid in behind me and pulled me over, but he didn't use a radar gun, so I was wondering if I should risk going to court to see if the cop doesn't show up. Do I have to plead Not Guilty to find out if the cop is there in court? I just don't want to pay and have my insurance rates go up...

Also a guy in the cell next to me just woke up moaning, saying something about dropping his soap in the inmate shower and all he remembers is bending over to pick it up. What do you suppose happened and why can't he remember it?

his public defender is saying that he most likely get 9-16 months and he has already served 6 and has yet to be arraigned. he has no prior record and the robbery was unarmed. he supposedly got away with 7 grand. i was just wondering how realistic is it for him to get 9-16 months considering this crime? it seems like too much of a lenient sentence for a crime like this. please answer if u have knowledge of this or your opinions are welcome

My brother is the father who is a druggie living on the streets. He has been no part of anyones lives' for a year now. His ex girlfriend is the mother to my niece and nephew and has custody. Main points:
-Verbally, mentally, abuses them
-neglects all their health diagnosis, for she does not believe them
--calls her daughter; slut, wh%4e, etc
-Moves and constantly changes #'s in attempt to hide children from my family
-lies to them
-keeps them in home majority of time and now enrolled them to be homeschooled
-pins all her responsibilities on oldest daughter; caring for baby sister
-daughter threatened suicide and the mother went and got her a knife in which she sliced at her wrist in front of her and was then only sent her to her room
-nephew was diagnosed with ADHD and since mother does not believe it; refuses to get him help but punishes him for all related actions
-Has her daughter on a strict diet with her
-fixing up shed a little outside to have for son's room

(Particularily NYC) I know that ESUs perform vehicle accident extrication, EMS for a variety of causes, and Search and Rescue applications. My understanding is that those tasks are mainly for the fire department. So why do the police do those? That's like a firefighter carrying a gun. (thank god they don't!!! =) ) Perhaps a better question to ask is why does the NYPD and FDNY have overlapping skills?

I have a question about shooting in self defense. Say a person on the street comes up to you and pulls a gun on you, are you allowed to shoot him? Now say a police officer pulls his gun on you, why arn't you allowed to shoot him? If it is in self defense you should be able to.

We had put 7 thousand dollar into our van (new engine and then transmission 3 months later) Last Dec. We woke up and someone had stold our van. I called the police. They knew where it was . The man was in jail and had stolen a few other things all week. He had just got out of prision 2 month prior to this. We had to pay the towing fee and storage fee. We sold it to a salvage yard for about 450.00. And outta that came the garage fees. URGGG huh. Boy do I know! Well with just liablity we got nothing. Just no van. He is in prision now and does not want to pay when he gets out so we have to go back to court. There is no one that can help us I guess. What would you do? Get a lawyer and waist more money or just be done with the whole thing. The van blue book valued for 6,410.00.I think he owes us more. No van or anything for 3 month. We live pay check to pay check anyhow.Help please.PS he has been in and out of prision since 1986. Is there ever any relief? Will I ever see our money?

I have a friend that caught his wife playing XBOX Live late one night and talking dirty with a 16yo boy...she is 35yo. Is this a form a pedophilia. He wants to have her arrested but is not sure about the parameters of the law and how it is defined when an older woman seeks an underaged boy.
P.S. From what he told me this has been going on for some time now. He has also gone into his wifes emails and has seen that they write to each other in a sexual manner.

There are to many children being killed and abused by sick people called paedophiles, and when there caught there treated like 'royalty' they either go to prison for a pathetic sentence time, and while there in prison they can learn a new caree, get fed, watch tv etc, and when they get out the live with a different identidy and get placed near schools etc, how do you think this matter will ever be resolved? it makes me so angry and sad that a defenceless child get hurts in many ways and that it will alway live with them!

If the most imediate threat of terrorism is from young Arab men, is it racist to target these people when trying to catch terrorists. I'm sure young Irish men felt the same during the 70's.
