his public defender is saying that he most likely get 9-16 months and he has already served 6 and has yet to be arraigned. he has no prior record and the robbery was unarmed. he supposedly got away with 7 grand. i was just wondering how realistic is it for him to get 9-16 months considering this crime? it seems like too much of a lenient sentence for a crime like this. please answer if u have knowledge of the law and please serious answers only!

Is it because they arent real people. is it because if I shot one in the head, I wouldnt feel very bad about it. Is it because they are racist and are basically pieces of walking talking crap on a stick? My advice, never be in law enforcement unless you hate JUSTICE and want to screw people over. Thanks. and yea, screw the police, in the *** cause they dont have a peneiz. ONly the women officers do. I hate cops more then anyone. They are basically a race.

I am fascinated with criminal justice and am considering a career change. What steps would I need to do to get a foot in the door?

I will be graduating college in a year, and would like to become an officer, but would like to ENSURE to myself and prove to the department that I will be ready for it when I apply. Before I became interested in law enforcement, I took 3-4 hits of marijuana 3 times over a course of 2 years, the most recent about a year ago. I personally don't feel that enough time has passed to indicate that I won't do it again, and I believe most departments would agree. I know that I will keep a clean slate from now on, but I still want time to pass (at least 2 yrs) , b/c what better way to prove it than to show it? Anyway, it would also help for me to gain some life experience, and get into shape.

So what can I do during this time to prepare for a career in law enforcement? I will certainly take the opportunity to volunteer as much as I can, but I will need to make a living as well. What paying job could I take on in the meantime? I've considered joining the military, but are there other options

My son lost a bet with a girl at school and he had to wear a hoodie of a sports team he does not like. He was going to give it back to her but another girl at school said she would give it back to the girl he lost the bet with. That girl never gave the hoodie to the girl like she said she would. We find out now that the girl took the hoodie from her uncle without him knowing it. The girls mom is now threatening my son with contacting a judge. They are holding him responsible for the hoodie b/c he gave it to the other girl who said she'd give it to the first girl. Can my son be held liable in a court of law? This is ridiculous! Over a hoodie! He's only 16 yrs old.

I've searched forever to find public records for a former inmate at north Kern State Prison. With a first/last name, age, crime, and very little else, I am not having any luck. Anyone know how to get the records/info?

My car slid down a little incline and partially into a street. Perhaps some wiseguy kid pushed it, or perhaps my emergency brake did not hold. I don't know. On it I found 3 summons. The first was, of course, for the car being in the street. The second was for not having a valid inspection sticker. And the third was for incorrect license plates. I just bought the car and haven't gotten around to registering it yet. However, I have gotten it inspected and it is insured. I looked carefully on the summons and the VIN # of my car was not on the summons. What happens if I don't pay the summons? Do the police keep a record of their own with the VIN #? Would the person from whom I purchased the car be held liable for the tickets? I plan on registering the car this week and the car will be parked near where I received the 3 summons. What are my chances that a diligent policeman will recheck the car and be able to find out if I did not pay the outstanding summons? Are these parking violations?

Is insulting or talking back to a cop considered assault on a police officer? I know they can pretty much call anything they want disorderly conduct but thats only a misdemeanor and assault is a felony.
