All hierarchies are unfair, and sadly inevitable.

Because rules allow us to be free. Its mutually beneficial for us to abide by laws, because most others do aswell, ensuring our security and welfare. Say we all one day decided to reject law. There would be anarchy. none of your possessions, or even yourself would be safe, people could bone you even if you dont want them to, steal your stuff, kill your mum, whoever what ever when ever. How is that beneficial to anyone? to the looters? well, without law and orderwhats the point in having those things since they are probably going to get stolen again any time soon anyway. By abiding by the laws we are basically saying you respect me and my right to be here and i'll respect yours, so we can coexist. This is why human rights campaigners get up my **** because when somebody breaks the law, why should they then have law to protect them? Sorry mate but you just rejected law, so its not here to help you either now.

Also who are they? The government? How do they keep changing them to suit themselves? I think you're talking rubbish there, i see nothing to back up that assertion. A government is meant to represent the will of the majority. If they dont, ie change laws for their own gain as you are suggesting they do, they will not get elected again. Plus the Lords reject it, and the courts exercise their power to balance the power of the government.
