A burglar gets hurt on your property, you are responsible.
If I shot an intruder, I can get charged with attempted murder.

here's why I ask. I'm walking across the parking lot to the store when a 11 or 12 year old kid stops me and asked if I'd get him a pack of cigarettes. He has money in hand. I was so shocked by the question I just stood there like an idiot. First I looked at him, then around just to see if I'm on a hidden camera show. Then in one of the vehicles in the parking lot I see a guy in regular clothes observing us. he says something like he's talking to someone, but he doesn't have a phone in his hand. Right away I think "cop" I tell the kid I'm sorry but I don't think I can get him the 'cigs, and walk away. So again I ask, does law enforcement do this against samaritans? and if so, would they really use a child as a "lure"?

Last year I got charged with receiving stolen property. They gave me 30 days in county, suspended for 1 year good behavior. This year I came up about a month short. I got 4 new charges, 1 possesion, 1 theft, and 2 conduct after an accident charges. I have yet to have the court date for this. While out on bail I got another possesion about a month later. I had the 2 court dates put into one. What is the possible outcome? I have hired a good attorney who used to be a state prosecuter, and I have been good with police. I am 18 years old.

Was I wrong to shoplift 2 years ago? Yes, but that's not the point of my question. In fact, if I had known there were charges pressed against me, I would have turned myself in years ago when the event occurred, as opposed to being embarrassed beyond belief when the officer told me to put my hands behind my head. What I was asking was if the arrest was legal on the part of the LEO. My date and I were just hanging out enjoying each others company, and were more than helpful to the police officer who asked us if we had seen anything.

Sooo, I guess my new question is Are police legally able to just run plate numbers and background checks at will, even if they have no reason to suspect me of doing anything?

And yes, when I was 17, I stole a 5 dollars worth of merchandise and this is what happened. For all the youth and adults out there who have thought about taking something, don't do it, its never worth it.

Last night I was out on a date with what I was hoping was my soon to be girlfriend. We went to a playground and had swung around on the swings etc, just having a good time. It was getting dark out so I walked her to her car and was saying good bye when a police officer pulled into the parking lot, and pulled up next to us. The officer asked us if we had seen a group of 10 or so cars go by the school earlier, because someone had filed a complaint against them. We said "yes" because we had seen a group of cars drive past about 10 minutes before, and were sure that the police were talking about the same cars. The officer thanked us for our time, then got back into her car, but didnt leave. A few minutes later, she came back out of her car and ordered me to put turn around and put my hands on the car because I was under arrest. Apparently 2 years ago when i was 17, I was caught shoplifting and even though i paid the guy, he still pressed charges against me.
Is that arrest legal?

I recently made a purchase of around $1,600. Where it asked to give half now half when the product was delivered. I did, I gave them $800, yet the product was never delivered. I've gone to the office like 20 times and I've been told countless times that they'll give me my money back. It's been 2 weeks now. I no longer need the item and I want my money back!

Does anyone know how I can get this man to give me my money back?

Is parking in london about money for the council or keeping traffic moving,it seems to me that parking wardens wait for you to leave your vehicle then slap a ticket on it asap,if it is about keeping traffic flowing why dont they just tell us to move on.

I am referring to a call about a home break in, nothing was taken but there had been an illegal entry to my home. Police never followed up & when I asked why they didn't, their answer was that I called the regular number & not 911!

Is it because law enforcement and punishment is harsher in the States, or is it because of the big social differences in America? You know, the gap between rich and poor, social security, and stuff like that. Education?

For example: Someone does something stupid on the road. They pull over when they see the stupid alert light bar flashing. They don't reach for their licence and registration. They simple roll down their window, stick their head out and wait for it.

Perhaps there could be a department of ***** slapping. With a voted official. 'A' number one Duke of ***** Slaps.
