OK, I got a speeding ticket around Memorial weekend and I still haven't received anything in the mail yet! What does that mean?? What am I supposed to do or what do I need to do? Will it just go away then and that I shouldn't "rock the boat"?

Please answer based on your own experience. I mean, do I just keep waiting? Hope it never comes and the whole thing just goes away? Call DMV? But I'm afraid if I call DMV they'll just add the point in if I tell them I got a ticket.

Well yes I did get the ticket at the time of the pull-over, but usually the ticket with the amount is mailed and that's when you pay it. But I haven't received THAT.

Your court date should have been on the ticket. You missed your date. hmmm.

You be notified. Trust me. It won't be by Mail.

ever hear of. "Failure to appear" ?

That will not go unnoticed. Your best bet, it to just go pay it, IF, you can. They might cancel the warrant on you.

You should have mailed in the speeding ticket with the fine posted on the ticket, By the date it said it was due. Or you could send it in and check the box to fight the ticket if you choose.. Either way you should have mailed the ticket in. No the ticket won't go away, And yes you will get points on your licence, And yes your insurance will go up because of it. But you can take a defensive driving course to lower your points. And get a % off your insurance. But the ticket stays on your licence for 3 years.

Call the local court not the DMV. If they can't find the ticket then you are safe. Keep the information of the person that you speak to along with the date and time, so that if if the ticket reappears you can prove you made a good faith effort to pay the ticket.

This happened to me and they never found the ticket and I didn't have to pay.

ok if it does not show the amount that is needed to be paid then you have to go to court because the prosecuters decide on what to do with your case and also goes with the points, so to avoid a warrant for your arrest try calling the court and if they can't find anything then call the DMV, but tell them if there has been any record of tickets lately and just be like I was wondering!

Did you actually recieve it? If the police officer gave you a ticket, then you normally have 14 days to go to court or pay the ticket. If you didn't do either one, there is probably a warrant out for your arrest and your license is also suspended. To check you could call the courthouse and find out, then pay the ticket. After that get the paper that reinstates your license and go to the dmv to get it reinstated.

understand meant prosecution needs to be served on you interior of 14 days so that you'll realistically furnish a defence. So if this era has exceeded then it truly is purely no longer coming. i'm no longer positive why 2 thumbs down became given and may only anticipate they're ignorant of the regulation? If my rigidity does no longer get the interest to the fellow interior of 14 days they received't proceed with any prosecution. it truly is a reality!

Pay the ticket, ask for a new court date, or more than likely you'll get arrested. Not right away, but a year or two down the road, it will come on bite you in the ***.

AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DONT REQUEST A SUPPORTING DEPOSITION.

didn't the officer give you a copy of the ticket? if for some reason he or she didn't, call the court and ask what your fine is. don't just let it go. if you were issued a court date and you miss it, you could have a warrant. and traffic warrants are no big deal, just go pay your fine & court costs & you're done.
