Each state has there own DMV laws... When I moved to TX years back I had both a ID and a DL when I applied for a Job at a Bar the employer noticed I had 2 IDs. It was then I learned it was not legal for me to have both. and Yes, I did check around to see if it was indeed fact.. It was.

About a year ago I moved to GA and when I applied for my DL here they actually took my TX DL and cut it up right there!! I still have family in TX, even though I've lived there for 13 years you would think would still be a Texan, but without TX ID I'm now a GA Peach.... hummmm... weird huh? I guess its for Theft purposes....

When you apply for a new licnece you have to turn you old one in, a person can not have more than one licence, the new state will send a notice to your old state and your old licnece will automaticly be cancelled.

Don't tell us. Go to your licence bureau and tell them. It may be a case of mistaken identity -- someone with a similar name to yours may have applied for a California lic. Or even a stolen identity. Check it out!

Not sure what you are asking but several years ago when we moved to SC and went to get our licenses the DMV here called to VA and our licenses were cancelled up there.

You can't have more than one diver's license, no matter what state they are from. You have to turn in your old ones and apply for a new one in the state you are moving to, etc.
