Is parking in london about money for the council or keeping traffic moving,it seems to me that parking wardens wait for you to leave your vehicle then slap a ticket on it asap,if it is about keeping traffic flowing why dont they just tell us to move on.

When the parking was controlled by the Metropolitan Police the situation was about traffic control and keeping traffic moving. Now it is controlled by individual councils it is about revenue and as much as they can make.

One would try and argue the wardens are just trying to do their job, but its gone completely out of control. Just me alone have several cases of being slapped a ticket when I entirely stuck to the rules. The one I am currently taking to court is a classic. I parked my card totally validly in a street with no restrictions. This was fine no problem. The next day whilst my car was still parked there the no parking restriction was put up - shortly followed with a parking inspector issuing me a ticket. There was no way I knew the restriction was to be applied after i parked there! Tower Hamlets - the local authority wouldn't accept my claim despite admitting the restriction was just put up - hence the court case in August. So to conclude your question its all about money now. One guy from Tower Hamlets claimed it was used to fight court cases like the one I am pursuing. Hence, maybe the answer is about money for the legal system!

You are talking about parking illegaly, the warden is just doing his job, do what I done, look for a warden, then illegally park and ask the warden to keep his eye on your car whilst you are away for a couple f mins, if you have permission it is legal.

Parking in London is about storing your car while you transact your business. When you are finished, you retrieve your car and park again wherever you might have other business to transact.
