My boyfriend signed over his rights to his daughter and has changed his mind, and wants them back. He was in the military at the time and thought that it would be the best thing for his little girl in case anything happened to him, and is now regreting the decision. It has been almost two years since then, and the ex-wife (and stepdad) aren't willing to work anything out. It kills me to see him so upset. Can anybody help? I believe the rights were signed over in Florida, but Im not positive. I just know that he hurts so much and I don't know if he can do anything, or where I would go to find out.
Please...any advice would be helpful. THANK YOU!

I live in Indiana and need information concerning comp time acquired in the work place. Is it legal to force comp time instead of paying overtime? Does comp time have to be time and a half?

My landlord just informed me that they have been watching me and noticed a car parked over my house over night and that I am not allowed to have over night guest because of security reasons. It is not stated in the lease that I cant have over night guest. They just ask me if I was single, is it right to descriminate against someone because they are dating and have someone stay over night. Can I tell them that they can't determine who stays over night because I pay them rent and utilities. I dont party, or drink or have a lot of people over. What should I do?

I was fired from my job. i only worked there for 6 months. I was working at another job for 10years and I quit because this employer offered me more money doing the same thing , Then she hired a new manager who told me I sounded to old on the phone. She kept on watching everything I did at work. and she told the owners that I was not up to her expectations. Well I do not have a job now and I am looking. But now i feel that everyone that calls them for refrences will be told I did not know what I was doing. I am 61 years old and have never been fired from a job. I only had 5 jobs in my lifetime because I always stayed at my job that was the first time I ever left a job on bad terms. What can I do? Any advice!!

My wife works in a call center. They have six different "teams" with 12-15 people per team. My wife's team is mainly comprised of women 30-60 for some reason and two men in their 40's. The floor boss drew a picture of a woman with saggy bare breasts and wrote "saggy bottom girls" on the whiteboard hanging on the wall in their section. I know this is inappropriate, but can he be charged with harassment? He said that was their new "team" name?

I bought an item for £215.
I started a dispute with ebay and the seller finally sent me the item.
I forgot to terminate (close) the dispute and Paypal have found in my favour. I have been refunded £150 so far. What happens now? Can I keep this money or will Paypal start some sort of recovery process against me? Is it just bad luck for the seller or can I be forced to give back the money?

I presume the seller has proof of postage. Has anybody else been in this position before?

Ok so a month ago i get a run in with the CAS(cps equivalent) and they get a complaint from a public health nurse which was unverified. So shortly after them leaving they obtain MY medical files illegally without consent or a warrant of any kind. So i decide to file a complaint with the workers supervisor for invading my doctor/patient confidentiality well the supervisor agrees that the worker was wrong and says she will give me a written apology, i was satisfied with that.(that was 2 weeks ago) then yesterday she(the worker) says she has to come back out cause there were "new" allegations i am a drug user... WTF??? I have never touched a drug in my life.
I tell her i will go for hair folicle, blood and urine testing to prove it.
Do you think that perhaps this worker invented this lie because she was angry i filed a complaint against her? She had openly obtained and spoken to my doctors just 2 weeks ago and if there were concerns of drug abuse she would have known about it.

Can the non custodial parent 'force' the minor child to leaving with them? Can and will the police department help? There is a lot more to this, but the non custodial parent does have a COURT ORDERED visitation guide, and has NEVER done anything to harm, (in any fashion) this child. How can the visitation be enforced against the CHILD?

shouldn't you have a member of your family murdered in a gruesome way, the murderer caught, and then you can sit back and re-think your own views?

Could you still honestly say the murderer should live and be released back into society? And if they killed again, would you feel any guilt?

How can I defend myself? This was something even my managers did, but somehow I was the one singled out by Loss Prevention Services. Also, I was in worse trouble because I found a store credit/ voucher card from the store, on the ground outside, and spent it. It turned out, I was the one who had issued it to a customer! So, I am in deeeeep S*** and am waiting to hear back from them. Until then I am in suspension.
I signed papers saying I was guilty, but only because I was afraid of what would happen if I "denied" it. I had no idea I had done something wrong in the first place. So, do you think I will be fired?

I won my court case and the defendant was ordered to pay me....the defendant has paid and is on a schedule to continue to pay one more time, so is it necessary to still go to the "Examination Hearing" which is scheduled for tomorrow (Dec 21)? When we (me and defendant) went to court on Monday the Judge ordered (and the defense agreed to) pay part of the sum owed me by today (Thurs, Dec 20), and the remaining sum in 60 days...However, because the "Examination hearing" is still scheduled for this Friday (Dec 21) is it even necessary to still go to that since the defendant is keeping up with the payment agreement (payed me the 1st installment on Thurs)?

i cant see what i would actually say to the judge at the Examination hearing except for "Yup, the defendant paid me yesterday and lets hope he keeps it up".....Can you tell me, should i go tomorrow to this scheduled Examination Hearing and say something to the judge anyway (the defense has told me they wont be going to this)?

Thanks

I just watched Michael Moore's documentary "Sicko", and he claims that the US is the only country in the Western Hemisphere not to offer free healthcare. I know Michael Moore is known for twisting the "truth" and editing his documentaries to exaggerate his opinion, but why doesn't free health care work in the US? In the documentary he claimed that our government was bought off by the insurance/drug companies; if true, can this be reversed?

So two years later I decided to check with the court it shows my name but no arrest warrant, it says something was filed but only a warrant fact sheet? Can anyone tell me what that is and what does this mean for my future jobs? Is this a conviction? I never went to court, the court never sent me anything and after talking to the detective i never heard anything again. can anyone help explain?

se which element would the defense have difficulty proving in the following hypothetical? Why?

The defendant is leaving a gay bar after having a few drinks. As he is leaving, three men who are outside of the bar threaten to hurt him because of his sexuality. The three men begin to walk towards the defendant and one of them is holding a baseball bat. The defendant is close to the entrance of the bar. The defendant becomes scared and then gets in his car and drives a mile where he stopped by the police and arrested for DUI.

Three independent witnesses see the event and testify that they saw one man holding a bat and he was with two other men. The defendant testifies that he was in fear for his life and he would not have driven but for being chased by the men. The defendant did not have a cell phone on him. His blood alcohol content was .09 at the time of driving which is above the legal limit but he passes his field sobriety tests and is coherent when speaking to the officer. He is charged with driving with .08 or greater of alcohol in his blood system.

This was a statement made by the late Indian prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru in one of his speeches.

But when the entire internal security system including the judiciary (judgement givers) and police(implementers) is being accused of corruption at all levels how can a common man even hope of implementing Nehru's statement.

How is it possible for the common man to survive and sustain in a system that has lost entire ethical base and accountability to the people and thrives on rampant corruption ?

There is also a feeling among some people that corruption also triggers terrorism what do you feel about this, is it true/false.

The question is mostly focussed on current Indian scenario but may be applicable to other countries accross the globe so please feel free to answer.

Is it truly fair for people-who spend their time studying, going to college, and getting get good jobs-to have give up more of the money they earn then people with lower incomes, who spent their time doing pot, resulting now in a crappy minimum wage job?
I'm not trying to stir up controversy, I just have a strong opinion about this and want to know what others think.
BTW, I know it is probably much more complicated then what I am saying, but GENERALLY.

I personally don't care as long as the software works, and it doesn't need updates. If it does, their is usually a crack to bypass the online checks. If I can get the software for dirt cheap and save my self a couple hundred dollars in the process, why should I care if I bought legit software or not.

There is an employee who is writing down every move I make, what time I leave my desk, what time I came back, what time I go pee and reports it to the boss. It's illegal to video and audio monitor in the workplace without authorization from the person being monitored, is this the same for writing down monitoring?
