Well some people have said that a part of insanity is the ability to do things spontaneously, possibly without thinking of future consequences whatsoever. Others have said that it is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. Wikipedea says in part that The insanity defense is based on evaluations by forensic professionals that the defendant was incapable of distinguishing between right and wrong at the time the offense was committed. I think that I would, have, and could fit any of these definitions most of the time (such as marrying someone 14 hours after meeting him in Reno, drunk of course but still, it was a second marriage and I am under the strongly held belief that if it didn't work the first time don't do it anymore, point proven around here, and no doubt a mental health worker would think I was off the reservation most of the time, I think), so probably very high in the small percentage of people that could escape I bet I would be one........

There is very good chance of escaping prison time if it's proved beyond doubt that you are insane. For that matter, even a crime committed by an insane is underplayed by law......so much so that a murderer may escape punishment completely if insanity is proved beyond doubt that when the crime was committed by the accused.

Actually not very good, when you plead insanity, chances are you won't walk, you'll be institutionalized indefinitely. They will hold you till they believe you are sane, usually this will be longer than a prison sentence.

You got to be ordered by a judge for evaluation, that gives you a better chance than all.

Pretty good, I'd say. Most people already say I'm insane.
