Probably not. How many billion e-mails are generated a day? Who COULD look at them without a specific reason?

Yes all of them can be . Remember the NSA wiretapping and the Eavesdropping on millions of Americans by the Bush administration? Of course we are monitored. The AT&T worked in conjunction with the NSA to eavesdrop on us all. In fact, the US Secret Service monitors the Net.

Anyone with a protocol analyzer can read emails. Email uses UDP to get from A to B..unreliable datagram protocol.
