I was driving north on a State Highway when I notice an Indiana State Trooper going the opposit direction. I saw him in my mirror as he turned around in the grass medum. Shortly after that he pulled me over and gave me a ticket. I advised him I was not speeding and he told me to state my case in court. I went to court and plead not guilt. We are set for trail next month. Most people I have talked too (including an Attorney) has indicated that more than likely I will be "rail roaded". I'm not guilt - so how do I prove it? Hope our Justice System Works.

Is this more of our lax mentality when it comes to criminals in general, or more absurdity displayed by the FBI? Was 9/11 so long ago, that we are about to ignore whatever violations there are to our security, and live through something similar again.

I just can't believe this story!!!

I am 17 years old in school and works part time, my son is 8 months old and currently lives with me at my mother's house. The father is 24 and lives in another state 8 hours away, he has a history of drug use and had just recently got out of jail right after my son was born for endangerment to a minor or child, (something like that). He wants to be in his son's life and i had told him he could come see his son ANYTIME he wants, but he claims i'm keeping him from his son because i won't let him come take my son out of state to be with him for a week. What I really want to know is: If i bring him to court for sole custody of my child with vistitation rights do u think i will get it OR is there a chance that he could get joint custody?
Any advise or personal experiences with child custody battles?

We are a 4 unit building that runs on a very tight budget. The owner that doesn't pay her quarterly dues (or pays weeks late if we nag her by phone) is an absentee owner who rents the unit out. What legal recourse do we have to get her to pay her dues on time as the rest of us do. We don't have a lot of cash in the bank and her lack of payment or very late payment puts a strain on the association's finances. Any suggestions?

I got someone's autograph and the newspaper took a picture of the person using MY pen and MY notebook to sign the autograph while he was signing it. I feel I should get some money the newspaper is making if they sold a picture of MY pen and MY notebook. Why is the newspaper allowed to do this? They are making money off of ME and not giving me any of the money. What is the law about this?

My father is considering divorcing my step-mother (whom I love dearly) because her ex-husband wont stop taking them to court. Her ex is trying to get back child support from her and she doesn't have a job and they are very poor. Before they were married, her ex took them to court for "cohabitation", so they got married to keep him from trying that again. Now since my step-mother doesnt have a job her ex is trying to collect child support from her by taking property away from my dad. My dad is fed up with his wife's ex and him trying to take money away from my dad's two youg kids, so he's thinking of divorcing his new wife. I know the legal system is different from state to state and we live in Arkansas, so any help would be great thanks.

Hi. I work in a grocery store with a man in his early 40s (I'm 20) who is VERY bossy, hyper, irritable, impatient, rude, and poses somewhat of a threat to us employees. He and I are both regular employees, so we are both on the same level--except he has worked there a lot longer than I have. Here's a list of how he is:

--made a threats to me like "don't you mess with me!!" and "you don't want to ever see the bad side of ___".
--swung a steel bat and hit an employee during baseball game
--says to me endlessly "HUSTLE, HUSTLE, HUSTLE!!" and "you're not hustling enough!!"
--becomes very irritable over accidents

I've discussed this with my parents and they believe I should mouth off right back at him and intimidate him back. Also, I'm a lot taller and more muscular than him.

How should I retaliate so he won't ever "mess" with me again?

Even though he says he has a 'bad side', I want to make him be AWARE that I have a 'bad side' myself.

Any info is appreciated!!! Thanks!!!!

I have a friend who goes to college at FAU. She rents an apartment with two other girls. One of the girls was told to move out by the other two a few weeks ago. Now there is another girl who is going to be taking her spot. Well the girl who is supposed to be moving out should have been out by the 1st of the month. Now the girl who is taking her place has her stuff in the living room and has been waiting for over a week for her room. The girl has already recieved her security deposit back and should have been moved out a while ago. They called the police b.c they wanted to move her stuff out and the police said that it would be considered Breaking and entering. Is that right? the girls name is not on the lease anymore and the new girls is and he stuff is in her room, which she refuses to get out. What should she do about this situation? Please ask for additional details if need be. The sum of the story is this girl should have been moved out two weeks ago and she refuses to?

A manager lets his team leave early (say noon when the work day ends at 5 pm) and wants to pay everyone for working the full day. The team consists of a mix of both exempt and nonexempt employees. Is this against the law? Which ones? What is the risk or exposure of setting a precedence? What are the business ramifications (legally, financially, etc.)?
