from experience, how many of you have done a trial by written declaration and had the cop not had time to do the paperwork so therefore the court sent it back with not guilty and you got your money refunded? i stopped, but apparently not as long as i thought i did, but i didn't count to 3 seconds, which is how long you're supposed to stop in CA i believe. i know i came to a complete stop.i do not feel like going to trial and dealing with cops, because it's a 17 year old girl's word against a cop's, i won't win. so tell me, what are the chances of the cop not responding to the trial by written declaration?

and if the court does send back guilty, can i just pay the fine and move on? or is it increased and i have to go to court, etc.? the whole point of this is that i do not want to deal with a lot of legal stuff. thanks

I work for a company where the minority owner has an ATM card. He goes to the bank and takes money as he wants. He has outstanding bills that the company owes in excess of 250.k and he withdraws out of the bank about 11K per month for his expenses. Is the Majority owner going to be held liable for this?

Okay, I currently live with my dad but I don't really want to. He used to beat me physically but now he just beats me verbally. I don't want to live with my mom because she is always working. My best friends dad said that he would let me live with himself and my friend. I'll be 17 in May of next year. Is there anything I can do?

when found under the "Docket Entries" section. If more than one appeal from the lower court is being processed at the same time, same appellant, same charges, same notice of appeal filing date, why would the party that did the "docket statement exited" be different? (some as appellant name, some another persons name, some by Western District Filing Office) Does this "EXITED" mean that the request for the Superior Courts to hear the case has been thrown out, not heard, or something else? thanks for any help

The govt of Alberta issued millions of dollars in Fuel Tax Rebates without identifying the claimants. The application form for rebates has the basic information to easily identiry claimants against the govt's data base information systems. The systems could be accessed within seconds but they did not do it. Hence public funds were disbursed by money managers with abandon in the millions. The motivation of the money managers was to disburse the budgeted amounts for the different programs. This program alone, disbursed $40 million dollars annually. When the incompetence was finally fixed, the disbursement for this particular rebate program dropped to $10 million dollars. This department of the government managed many rebate programs using the same level of incompetence for many years until it was brought to the attention of the authorities.

I understand that they learn a LOT about the Constitution and deal with trying to either decide or influence if a particular law is Constitutional or not, but do they go to "regular court" or is it primarily in the Supreme Court? Is it generally just a lot of paperwork, or do they see the inside of a court room on a frequent basis?
Just curious.

My fiancee recently had to move in with his mother in another state. IT was her idea not his (we are underage). She does not have any legal custody over him. His father does and he lives here. He wants to come back but if she says no....does he HAVE to stay with her? Can she legally keep him there?

My niece signed away custody of her child on a piece of paper. No one else was present, just her and the dad. Is this legally binding?

Since my marriage (2 yrs.ago) the non-custodial parent has participated in our childs' life (6 times in 2 year), yet before he was very cosistent. For the past year he's been very insistant in giving up his parental rights. He will leave the country on 11/28/07 for immigration stuff and upon his return (legally) he does not want to have a huge debt (child support), which he has expressed many times is his reason for giving rights up, but yet, he would like to see the child in the future- if I choose to let him, so he says? He has been financial supportive, but inactive in her life. He won't get a lawyer. He is harassing me to do the paper work before he leaves. I feel it is his responsibility because he is wanting this (yet, so do I) I am tired of going back and forth. My husband without a doubt wants (so do I) to adopt my oldest child (we have a child of our own). Who should do what? Is there time for court? What do you tell a chlld - oh your dad didn't want the debt or not tell
