In a Contempt Order against my ex-husband it states that he had until 07/31/07 to refinace our home and get it out of my name. It also states that the Defendant (him) must immediatly place the house for sell and we must agree on a fair price. Here is my problem. He refuses to sell, says no one can make him leave and that he will do whatever it takes to make sure the house will not sell - and because he is the one living in it that will be pretty easy to do. Can I, since the house is in my name soley and he is not cooperating take control and sell the house to an investor at whatever price I see fit?

I Know that KS Minimum Wage is $2.65 per hour. Do people actually get pay the State Minimum Wage or everybody is making more than the Federal Minimum Wage that is 5.85. If they are actually making 2.65 per hour how can they live with only 2.65 per hour. I just want to know how much they are making before I move to Wichita Kansas. I just want know how much they are actually making.

Or do they owe nothing because they acted on the premise of sincere belief in his guilt of the crime for which he was convicted and, therefore, his deservance of death? Or because judges can choose not to follow the sentence recommendation if not the only option.

I have a close friend that is having some marriage difficulties. She has been thinking of taking her youngest son to stay with family in another state. She wants to do this so that her hubby has time to decide what he wants, his family or be single. If she leaves without him knowing, without permission to take their son, could she face legal problems by doing so? They are married at this point and the child is theirs together. Could he have her arrested for taking him out of state without knowledge and permission of both parents?

Speeding Ticket 58mph in a 50 zone?
Has anybody (as of today 10th August 2007) got a pending speeding ticket, or have you just had a speeding ticket? I've just got one and I need to know if it's valid or not. At the bottom of my 'intended prosecution' notice is a box marked 'FOR POLICE USE ONLY' with spaces for a Police Officer (or someone else) to declare that they have sent this notice to me by normal mail, and it goes on to say that the sheet I've received is a true copy. The thing is, this section has not been filled in by anyone and therefore is not signed and dated. The date is included higher up the form, but not on this declaration. Has anyone got a current similar form, has this section been filled in on yours, and do you think this omission makes my form invalid? Any other advice as to how to get this ticket quashed? It's yet another money making venture from a Government that has already stolen nearly every penny I've earned. No wonder people don't help the police much!
Thanks in advance.

A Christian student's group at Hastings College of Law, sought official recognition and direct financial support from the college for the group. Unfortunately, the Christian group discriminated against gays, by not allowing gays to join their group. The university would not officially recognize this Christian group, nor provide direct financial support, since the Christian group's discrimination was against the university's nondiscrimination policy. Of course, the Christians lost their lawsuit, since it is hardly a violation of religious liberty, to prevent the Christian group from being exempt from the university's policy of non-discrimination.

My question is, how can Christians claim their religious freedom is being violated if they are not allowed to discriminate? If every other group at the university can't discriminate, why should the Christians be allowed to discriminate? It's a matter of Christians asking for the special right to discriminate, when no other group could.

Okay, this is a very bizarre situation. My grandparents purchased a house on a very large property (six acres) in the 1960s. In the 1980's the property was subdivided and one acre was given to my parents to build their house on. The driveway that goes to our house branches off of the orginal one that leads to my grandparents house. Now, my grandparents are moving, and when we were looking at the property drawings we discovered that the entire driveway up to my grandparents house is actually on my parents property. This never posed a problem because we were all family, but new owners will be moving into my grandparents house soon. So, do my parents have the right to tell the new owners that they have to build themselves a new driveway? My parents are not trying to be difficult, but they do not want to be held responsible in case any accidents occur on the driveway.

So i live @ these apartments in San Jose. And I've been trying to deal with the office staff and get things resolved and they just keep making things worse. We recently got a new neighbor and he has a surround sound and he blares his music so loud my picture fell off the wall. So I called security and they never showed up. The next day the same thing music blaring all day, the office was open so I called the office. They came up and told him he needed to turn it down. He asked them who called on him the guy who works in the office points to my apartment and says "they did". So not even a 1/2 hr later the neighbor knocks on the door and is like can I talk to your boyfriend? So the management told him we called. Isn't it supposed to be confidential? Then this past weekend he's blaring his music. One of his friends accidently opens my door and walks into my apartment and all i can smell is marijuana coming from his apartment so I call security. They don't want to deal with it they call

They claim to be calling from a law firm, but they are telemarketers. You all should consider putting all of your phone numbers on the official "do not call list". Some people are getting very upset by the tactics these companies are utilizing, please protect yourselves!

If someone were to buy you a xmas or birthday present or give you another gift of some kind, and then say weeks, months or even years later they wanted it back, who would legally have the right to it? Who would legally own it? They say possesion is 9 10ths of the law so would it be a case of just fighting for it?! Is there a legal precedent for something like this? And if possesion is 9 10ths of the law, then if you had an item of yours in some elses house, could they then claim it as there property if you say went out and left it there and then came back wanting it back?! At what point does ownership change?!
