He is very rude and demeaning to just me. He is constantly riding me and belittling me. The regional manager has corrected him twice. That has made him worse. What do I do to make it stop?

Tell him that he is creating a hostile environment and it's illegal and he has his warning, if it happens again, he is going to be reported until the issue is resolved. Report him to your local labor union or board. Report him to the H/R dept at your work and document everything he says to you and does to you. Make a journal of these things. Show him that you CAN and WILL do this if it doesn't stop and continue to report him to the Regional Mngr as well. He needs to be written up for his actions, a hostile environment is illegal in every state and he is intentially creating it, don't let him fool you, he's up to no good. I think both you and the Regional Mngr and this idiot need a 3 way talk to work this out together, where you CAN defend yourself! You have the right to report this sort of behavior and have a zero tolerance for his garbage. Remind him that you aren't the garbage can that he can just spit into or dump his problems into. That should get his attention really well. Good luck w/ everything, and yes I know what it's like to have a Dictator for a boss.

File a formal complaint, in writing, with the regional manager over the issue and let the company know he has been corrected twice and still continues to belittle you. Be sure and document things that are happening so you have a list of things that are happening. You can choose to stay and fight it and go through the stress of dealing with him or you can find another job and get away from it entirely.

I worked at a large PD when a new Sgt came into our section. He started riding everyone who had marked off sick numerous times (sad but some were on the job injuries) and two women quit on the spot, packed up their stuff and walked out. A few transferred to other jobs in the department and/or city just to get away from the tyrant. It wasn't what he was doing so much as the Way he did it and many just didn't want to put up with his hypocritical attitude (his record wasn't so clean either).

Good luck ~ there isn't anything worse than having a job you like and have someone come in and spoil it like this.

Go to human resources, or to his boss and use the words - "He is creating a hostile work environment." That is a very serious matter and will need to be dealt with.

Also, go back and document instances of what he has said and done. Be factual, not emotional, and put it in writing. When you go to HR or his boss, take the document with you and say that you want it put in your personnel file, and that you want it put in his personnel file. Then they will have no choice but to deal with the situation.

Good luck!
