My friends dad has some woman living with him (g/f). What rights does she have to the house he shared with his deceased wife??

2007-08-11 10:03:07 · 20 answers · asked by K-9 3

My dad and my next door neighbors recently got in an argument or something, and when we went on vacation they built a large fence (only on our side) and posted signs all over our side that said "no trespassing private property," "beware of dog," and "KEEP OUT!"

I'm glad they built the fence since all they do is sit in their swim suits and drink all day, but I would really prefer that they take those obnoxious signs off as it pretty much ruins are back yard, and it's not like we even go in their yard anyway so it's just to be mean. I decided to ask them myself, since I've never had any problems with them myself, and they just started yelling and saying that they'd sue if I took down the signs (it's like 1 inch into their property).

So what should I do?

Crazy huh, a misdemeanor. Basically, our country has no value in itself. There is more value in personal property than in the value of our country. Strange to me.

When my boyfriend goes back to Lebanon for Ramadan and to visit with his family (his father is dying of cancer) should I worry about talking on the phone or emailing him? I mean with the "new" wiretapping edict, should I be worried that big brother will think we are speaking in code or something? He is a good man, no terrorist or the like, but with all the paranoia today, you just never know what the gov't will think. He will be gone for 2-3 months; we would only be contacting each other 2-3 times a month. That is usually the case with his yearly visits.

What do you think?

They made opium poppies illegal because it came against Islam's ways. The same way Islam doesn't tolerate alcool, it regards drugs as evil. In fact the Taliban had pretty much eradicated the opium production. Please keep in mind that the only, or most likely punishment was death in varieties of not very subtil ways, beheading, stoning etc... Now that we have taken control of that country, Afgn became for the first time the world main opium producer. We all recall how the CIA introduced and sold crack in the 80's in the Watts getto.CIA personnels went on live TV explaining that, every days, cargo planes full of coke were making deliveries at army bases over the nation (For more info, go to www.youtube.com/watch?V=Mwef7qeaVCU&mode=related&search= ).Part of the money was then directed to contras and others fighting the russians in Afgn. Bin Laden being only one of them.Who are we founding now? Aliburton? Who are the victims? Is there any honest way to agree or close our eyes to this???

I am so upset with the state of affairs in the U.S. right now that I absolutely have to know if I am the only person who thinks this way. Here goes:

The other day I was discussing music with someone and they brought up R. Kelly as an artist they "loved." This upset me because, as we all know, R. Kelly was caught on tape having sex with a minor AND urinating on her. He's a pedophile. Yet people still buy his albums and support him. Why?!?! I can't figure it out for the life of me. I asked this person the same question and he honestly told me "Yah, but he can sing his @ss off." Is that all it takes to be allowed to be a pedophile, to be able to sing well?

Am I the only one who thinks this guy should be boycotted and banned from all public forums?

Ok. So you've got this thesis leader back in college who was a bit. gay. He was the leader of your group and he was often seen wearing what was seem to be "blouses for women". He graduated suma kum laude from your college and you graduated with average grades.

fast forward to the future.

Both of you are working in the same company. In 6 months you have worked there, he has yet to be promoted yet other people that starts out as he has were already promoted. Your boss then approaches you and tell you that he will promote you. You ask him, why not the "other guy" (your friend). He sniggers and say, "You're just better". Your promotion will grant you 20,000 pesos increase in salary and you are paying your way through your masters course. You are barely making ends meet. Is it ethical to accept the job? knowing that there is a huge evidence of discrimination to your friend?

Made mistake of having affair with business partner, found out recently that he AGAIN put compromising pictures of me on sites searching for sex partners. The first time I finally forgave him warning him not to do it again ever. Now find out that he has again done it.I have been and still am so humiliated and degraded,I am so afraid that my family or friends recognise me in there,I am at a real loss what legal rights I have and what I can do to this sick man.I have lost my marriage to a good husband and have lost all sense of self worth & now I will probably lose the business too if I just walk away and even this will not ensure that he will stop hurting, tormenting, destroying me this way, using my photos, posing to be me,having email correspondences about the most disgusting sexual things with strangers on the internet. He does not know yet that I have found out about this latest thing he has done.PLEASE HELP ME.I feel so trapped and alone. PLEASE HELP.

Let's say my grandfather is worth $1,000,000 in cash and assets. He has no will (and will not make one) and my grandmother's name is attached to all the bank accounts and property.

He has no intentions on leaving anything to his two children and it is my concern that they could bring my grandmother to court and sure her for a large amount of money. Is that possible? Do they have a legal claim on my grandfather's money after he dies if my grandmother is a joint account holder and still living? Thanks.

the accident was due to a supervising error, in which he (the supervisor) gave the order for a truck to leave the loading dock, however, i was still inside finishing unloading the truck. As the truck began to leave then i tried to step out but fell 5 or 4 feet from the loading dock to the ground. As a result my wrist hurts from trying to break my fall and my tailbone hurts as well because it was the main part of my body to impact the ground . Any advice will help.
