Yeah you can, he not only stole your phone but left you with a bill that you are forced to pay. Make him cough up the money, if he doesn't take his *** to court.

you probably can but is it worth losing a friend over?
Why not confront him and let him know that as a friend you would expect him to do the right thing and return the phone and pay for all the calls he made.
This way you will either get your phone back without the extra cost and still have a friend or find out he's not a friend.

It would probably cost you more to sue than the cost of the phone and calls made. Just end your present contract with the cellphone people.

I dont get with all you human beings an sueing. that's getting annoyin. You liberals sue for something... spilling coffee, sueing mcdonalds reason u ate there and getting fat. you ought to calm down. I advise a cell telephone getting stolen. I guess ur sueing for the money no longer because of the fact he stole ur cell telephone. yet u can sue somebody. Its stupid tho

Sure you can sue... that's civil law.
If you really can prove that he has your phone, drop a dime
and get your phone back that way.

Usually, you only collect money in a lawsuit.
