When my dad passed away he left me his antique car which I loved it meant a great deal to me and was in good condition it could have used a new paint job but other than that it ran I drove it for years and kept repaired when needed but my brother in law was suppose to move it for me when i moved into my new home because something had happened to the trans misssion and I was going to have it repaired but instead he destroyed it, he said a tree fell on it and it was flattened but he has no proof of what was done to the car I think he is lieing he was offered a lot for the car and I think he sold it but I have the title in my name it broke my heart when he did this to me I really loved that car.Can anyone help me I really want him to pay for the car because it was not his property to destroy it belonged to me.

I need an attorney to help me with a child support reduction, I have been to the FOC and even the lady at the building agreed my support amount is rediculous. I submitted a request for reduction, but was denied and informed I need to fill out a different form and request a hearing. The mother of my children and I have agreed on an amount but the FOC won't butt out!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The problem is they have taken so much I can't even afford to live, and I don't think it is fair my daughter (whom I have custody of) should suffer. I don't have much money so therefore I cannot afford an attorney and legal aid is talking like months til they could help me.

allows for the legal collection of federal income taxes from the general work force?

Spare me the diatribes and stick to the Constitution please. Also, please no complaining about the question without answering it because that's a violation of TOS, no matter how "Peppy" or "Limey" you feel.

As a person having a moderate issue I believe that individuals should be punished for their crime but I belive that the defendant should have a right to defend themselve in court. The battered woman syndrome defense is a defesne that I think that should be discontinued to be allowed in courts. I think that there are too much times when females use this defense in cases where they was no apparent attempt to leave the situation and instead use violence as a first option instead of a last option which the law was intended to do.

My neighbor has been avoiding the city tax assessor for months....the reason I know this is that the tax man actually knocked on my door one day looking for him.

There are times I know for a fact my neighbor is home (as I've seen him enter his house) and when this tax man comes by, he doesnt' open the door for him (the guy will stand out there knocking on the door for a good 10 minutes at a time)

Last week, the tax man approached him while he was mowing his lawn. I could hear through my window my neighbor actually pretend he was the 'owner's brother in law' and explained how he could not let him into the house to assess as the owners were 'away'

I'm disgusted by this...I have to pay my fair share of taxes, shouldn't he?

Online, the apt. website asked for routing number, account number, name, and eveything, which i provided. Also, I had more than enough balance left in my account. The rent was due Aug 3, so I paid on Aug 1. But they did not notify me until afternoon on Aug 3, and said the rent got bounced, and that I owe them 25 dollars extra. So I asked them if I try paying online again, will I know the result right away? They said No, and that I will be charged late fee of 50 dollars if I do not pay by Aug 3, which is today. Thanks.

My business law professor used to say, "Neither officer, director, nor major shareholder shall I be." I recall officers, board of directors and major shareholders can be held personally liable for their actions in a corporation. Any truth to that?

My brother has recently quit smoking marijuana and he's seeking a better paying job he hasnt touched, been around or smoked in over one month, yet he has failed 3 drug tests due to hair tests inwhich they they take 100 strands of your hair and send it to be tested. Apparently the hair testing goes back up to like 6 months and some tests even 7 years or so the lady at the doctors office told him, this is ridiculous for someone trying to get away from that life, just because you fail some test they don't think you are reliable and don't even give you an opportunity to show them what you can do.What are your thoughts on drug testing that far back? I could under stand up to 3 months but 6 months to 7 years? is absurd .its almost like a violation of rights what do you think about drug testing in america? How far do you think they should go back?

A daughter has written checks to herself and signed her mother's name. They have had a very close relationship and still do. The daughter has paid back the money that was not spent and is truly sorry. Her mother has forgiven her and accepts the returned portion as full restitution and does not want any prosecution.

Now the tricky part...The mother's brother (uncle) is now power of attorney. Not the normal one page form but 10 pages, covering anything imaginable and some. Uncle is threatening to press charges if the close daughter doesn't stop being a part of her mother's life. Can he, as agent have charges brought against the daughter even though the money was taken prior to uncle becoming the agent? (1-2 mos.)

I can't believe what has happened. Mother was of the notion that a trust was being set up. Sister has not had the same relationship over the 30+ years and is now somehow convining the agent to make up for favored past of close daughter, with his control and mother's money

My boyfriend is currently incarcerated, thus, unable to pay his ex wife child support (which, she should have begun collecting FOUR years ago, not waited until now). I refuse to give her information as to the whereabouts of his father and the address that we are going to be living, so that she can give the information for her case against him. I do this because as long as she receives her money, it is none of her business. Isn't it up to the child support services and the courts to find out where he will be upon his release from jail for their claim. Is it really possible for her to subpoena.me because I refuse to divulge his parent's phone numbers and residency information? after all, i was not with him before or during his divorce, thus, i have nothing to do with their debates.

Tell me what you think it should be defined as for prosecution purposes. Just as an example, in the case of a murder or serious assault.

No agenda here, just looking for a diverse set of opinions. And anyone who's been on here a while knows you're a diverse bunch.. :)

If child-support is failed to be paid, can the child be adopted by a new parent, have the birth certificate changed to state the name of the adoptive parent, and the child's last name be changed to the adoptive parent's name, without the birth father signing over his rights? say the birth father is not paying child support (because he is incarcerated). once he acquires a job, if he still fails to pay support, could his child be adopted by another man, without him singing away his rights as a father?
